Heard this? Saif, Varun to team up for KJo

In a recent interview (May 15), Mohit Suri had told Mirror: "Karan Johar has approached me with an idea for a young love story which my writer and I have been developing with him."

It's official now. Karan Johar has signed Mohit to direct a film.

Last week, Karan was partying with Ekta Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif when he saw the trailer of Balaji's Ek Villain and was bowled over. Ekta called up Mohit at the stroke of midnight and asked him to dash over to KJo's apartment. By the time the party ended, it was decided that Mohit's next film after Hamari Adhuri Kahani would be made under the Dharma Productions banner.

This development means that Mohit's planned film with Ramesh Taurani, starring Saif Ali Khan, will have to wait till mid-2015. However, Mohit may get to work with the nawab sooner because according to a source close to the development, KJo's film is likely to topline Saif and Varun Dhawan.

Said the source, "Karan is in advance talks with both Saif and Varun. The story needs two male actors with an appreciable age difference between them. The modalities are being worked out."

Saif and Varun remained unavailable for comment.
