YUDHRA and KAHAN SHURU KAHAN KHATAM both managed decent first day numbers going by the real value of the films. YUDHRA collected well as it grossed 4.25 crore nett which is a little more than CRAKK released earlier this year which also benefited from lower ticket rates. The National Cinema Day is such that the major chain ratio was also same for both films at 50% though YUDHRA is a more urban film.

The other release KAHAN SHURU KAHAN KHATAM also managed decent collections of around 1 crore nett which again would be impossible without the offer. The film is stated to be a romcom with little awareness but collections came due to the low rates.  The film is will suffer on the second day as collections come down heavily.

There was a Marathi release NAVRA MAZA NAVSACHA 2 which also benefited from National Cinema Day but this film is holding on superbly well on day two and is affecting the Hindi films be it STREE 2 or the new releases in the Thane and Pune areas.
-------------------------------------------------
The new release YUDHRA saw a drop in collections to 1.75 crore nett which was also always likely. It was the same with CRAKK in February as that film got benefit of lower ticket prices and then came down. The total collections  of YUDHRA are around 6 crore nett and its trending around 10% better than CRAKK over the first two days.

The other new release KAHAN SHURU KAHAN KHATAM also dropped heavily as collections went to around 45-50 lakhs nett after a first day of 1 crore nett which gives it 1.50 crore nett after two days. Simply put these collections are just too low for a Saturday.

The Marathi film  NAVRA MAZA NAVSACHA 2 is the winner of the weekend as this film suffered due to rates which meant it could not build much capacity at the multiplexes and with higher rates on Saturday, that capacity went up which enabled the film to collect much better. The first day collected around 2 crore nett and there should be a jump in the range of 20-30%.
-------------------------------------------------
YUDHRA fared poorly in its first weekend with collections of 7.50 crore nett and that is with 4.25 crore nett coming on the first day alone. Its a case of an urban action when the this audience don't really care for the genre much unless its a big budget or star star studded. Action has to appeal to the audience in the circuits and this could not do that.

The first weekend collections of YUDHRA are as follows.
Friday - 4,25,00,000
Saturday - 1,50,00,000
Sunday - 1,75,00,000
TOTAL - 7,50,00,000

KAHAN SHURU KAHAN KHATAM was also dull at 1.85 crore nett as day one collected 1 crore nett and then second day was 40 lakh nett and Sunday as 45 lakhs nett. The first day was respectable due to National Cinema Day.

The holdover THE BUCKINGHAM MURDERS collected over 1.75 crore nett to take its total to 9.25 crore nett plus. The film managed to jump a little post Friday as limited capacity due to National Cinema Day with minimal shows and also a very high end clientele where pricing probably changes little.

The collections of THE BUCKINGHAM MURDERS till date are as follows.
Week One - 7,52,00,000
Friday - 50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 60,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 70,00,000 apprx
Second Weekend - 1,80,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 9,32,00,000 apprx

The Buckingham Murders collects 7.80 cr in Week 1; Tumbbad (re-release) collects 12.75 cr

THE BUCKINGHAM MURDERS collected 70 lakhs nett on Tuesday which takes the film to 6.75 crore nett. The business on Tuesday was generally steady for all films considering Monday was a holiday. It is possible that some areas had some post Eid effect or people were celebrating Eid on Tuesday rather than Monday.

The first week of the film is looking to be around 7 crore nett and it remains to be seen if it can reach 10 crore nett. The film has faced rejection from the public.

The collections of the film in the first five days are as follows.
Friday - 1,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,85,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 2,15,00,000 apprx
Monday - 80,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 70,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 6,75,00,000 apprx

TUMBBAD (2018) held well on Tuesday as business was generally steady as mentioned above. The film collected a good 1.50 crore nett on Tuesday taking it over 10 crore nett in 5 days. The film looks to be heading for a 12.50 crore nett plus first week total which will be the lifetime of the film when it released first. Its been decades since a revival of a film changes the verdict.

The collections of TUMBBAD (revived) are as follows.
Friday - 1,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 3,00,00,000 apprx
Monday -1,65,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 1,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 10,15,00,000 apprx
-------------------------------------------
THE BUCKINGHAM MURDERS collected a poor 7.75 crore nett in its first week as collections dropped in weekdays after a dull weekend. There is National Cinema Day on Friday and this film is also getting good occupancy despite appreciation not being there. The problem is that the film has a huge reduction in shows as compared to the first week.

Still the Cinema Day offer should enable collections much higher than otherwise on the second Friday which should enable the film to cross the 10 crore nett mark.

The collections of the film in the first five days are as follows.
Friday - 1,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,85,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 2,15,00,000 apprx
Monday - 80,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 70,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 55,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 7,80,00,000 apprx

TUMBBAD (2018) did well in its first week collecting 12.75 crore nett and its set for a good run as collections held well up well over the weekdays. The film will get a huge bump up on National Cinema Day which means the second week can target the business of the first week.

The film crossed the lifetime business of its original run in 2018 in the first week which takes it overall total to 24 crore nett apprx. The film is by far the best for a re release. The limited new releases over the past few years has seen multiplexes go for repeat releases at low rates.

The collections of TUMBBAD (revived) are as follows.
Friday - 1,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 3,00,00,000 apprx
Monday -1,65,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 1,50,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 1,35,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 1,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 12,75,00,000 apprx

THE BUCKINGHAM MURDERS could not really hold well on Monday. The film dropped around 35% when it was a holiday in most states for Eid. This sort of drop was probably not even good enough if it was not a holiday. The film needed a to be around day one without a holiday factor and it is well short of that.

The film collected 80 lakhs nett apprx on Monday to take its four day total to 6 crore nett. The week looks likely to finish around 7.75 crore nett and it will be struggle from there on.

The collections of the film in the first four days are as follows.
Friday - 1,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,85,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 2,15,00,000 apprx
Monday - 80,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 6,05,00,000 apprx

TUMBBAD (2018) did well on Monday as it got benefit of Eid and collected more than Monday. The film has very limited collections in Punjab, Haryana etc. where it is not a holiday which means a huge ratio of collections where coming from the holiday areas enabling a better trend than even STREE 2.

Taking out the holiday, it is still very steady collections and remains to be seen where it goes from here. The film looks to be heading for a 12 crore nett plus first week total which will be the lifetime of the film when it released first.

Its been decades since a revival of a film changes the verdict.

There was MEHBOOB KI MEHNDI (1971) and BANDHE HAATH (1973) which were flops on release but revivals took them to average status. There will be many other films in the older days as well. Films like NAGIN (1976) and GHAYAL (1990) were superhit on release but then repeat runs made them blockbusters. TUMBBAD was a flop on release and has a chance for a change in its status if it run wells from here.

The collections of TUMBBAD (revived) are as follows.
Friday - 1,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 3,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 1,65,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 8,65,00,000 apprx

The Buckingham Murders collects 5.25 cr in 3 days; Tumbbad (re-release) collects 7 cr

THE BUCKINGHAM MURDERS could not push on Sunday as the film has a huge ratio of business from the metros. It collected a little over 2 crore nett on Sunday and around 5.25 crore nett for the whole weekend.

The film needs Monday to be like Friday but that is unlikely to happen due to Sunday not being that high. The film has a huge 75% of its collections coming from the national multiplex chains because that's where the film has got a release majorly (650 screens).

The collections of the film in the first weekend are as follows.
Friday - 1,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,85,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 2,15,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 5,25,00,000 apprx

TUMBBAD (2018) has done well for a revived film collecting 7 crore nett over its first weekend. It is easily the highest collecting revived film, since the lack of new releases has meant older films revived, but is also the first one to be promoted and have a marketing spend. The film, in its original release, had done decent business in Mumbai but was disaster elsewhere. Here again, it looks like Mumbai will be best again by a margin.

The original release had seen 12 crore nett business and in its re-release, it should comfortably cross that mark.

The collections of TUMBBAD (revived) are as follows.
Friday - 1,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 3,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 7,00,00,000 apprx

THE BUCKINGHAM MURDERS saw growth of 50% on its second day and it really should have been more as the film is mainly doing well in centres which grow huge on Saturday like Mumbai, Delhi, Gurgaon and Bangalore. The film collected 1.85 crore nett on Saturday to take its total to 3 crore nett plus.

The weekend of the film will probably do around 5.50 crore nett which is very low but the makers have a huge streaming deal and also a UK rebate. That will be more than enough for the film but a the public mandate will not be on their side.

The collections of THE BUCKINGHAM MURDERS in the first two dates are as follows.
Friday - 1,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,85,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 3,10,00,000 apprx

TUMBBAD (2018) is doing better than THE BUCKINGHAM MURDERS as it collected a little bit more on the first day and had more growth on Saturday. This film has a total of 4 crore nett in 2 days but actually has a wider release than THE BUCKINGHAM MURDERS. The film, on its release in 2018, had done decent business in Mumbai but was disaster elsewhere. Here again it looks like Mumbai will be best again by a margin.

The first week collections were 5 crore nett in 2018 and this time it will looks like it will comfortably be double of that.

The collections of TUMBBAD (revived) are as follows.
Friday - 1,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 4,00,00,000 apprx

The new release this week was THE BUCKINGHAM MURDERS and it had a low opening day with business likely to be a little over 1 crore nett and in the 1.10-1.15 crore nett range. There is very little hope for a film with a name like this and pretty much irrelevant to the Hindi audience especially today. Its pretty hard to tell if the film is in Hindi or English from the trailers. The film also has a so called Hinglish version released which can only come form this film industry.

The huge chunk of the collections are from PVR Inox chain with the contribution being around the 70% mark and it will be mainly centres like Mumbai, Delhi, Gurgaon and Bangalore which have some collections. The film is probably one which was to go straight to television but today the streamers want a theatrical release and hence, the film had to come to theatres.

A look at the directors filmography with films like ALIGARH, OMERTA and SHAHID and other such films can pretty much tell there is little hope even though here, there is star presence of Kareena Kapoor. Its just not cinema and the public knows it.

There was a old film revived this week also with TUMBBAD (2018) which collected better with collections in the 1.40-1.50 crore nett range but this film actually has a bigger promotional spend than THE BUCKINGHAM MURDERS. There have been a few old films revived over the last year or so and some have done decent mainly films for the youth with the college crowd following on low ticket rates.
