THE BUCKINGHAM MURDERS could not really hold well on Monday. The film dropped around 35% when it was a holiday in most states for Eid. This sort of drop was probably not even good enough if it was not a holiday. The film needed a to be around day one without a holiday factor and it is well short of that.
The film collected 80 lakhs nett apprx on Monday to take its four day total to 6 crore nett. The week looks likely to finish around 7.75 crore nett and it will be struggle from there on.
The collections of the film in the first four days are as follows.
Friday - 1,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,85,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 2,15,00,000 apprx
Monday - 80,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 6,05,00,000 apprx
TUMBBAD (2018) did well on Monday as it got benefit of Eid and collected more than Monday. The film has very limited collections in Punjab, Haryana etc. where it is not a holiday which means a huge ratio of collections where coming from the holiday areas enabling a better trend than even STREE 2.
Taking out the holiday, it is still very steady collections and remains to be seen where it goes from here. The film looks to be heading for a 12 crore nett plus first week total which will be the lifetime of the film when it released first.
Its been decades since a revival of a film changes the verdict.
There was MEHBOOB KI MEHNDI (1971) and BANDHE HAATH (1973) which were flops on release but revivals took them to average status. There will be many other films in the older days as well. Films like NAGIN (1976) and GHAYAL (1990) were superhit on release but then repeat runs made them blockbusters. TUMBBAD was a flop on release and has a chance for a change in its status if it run wells from here.
The collections of TUMBBAD (revived) are as follows.
Friday - 1,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 3,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 1,65,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 8,65,00,000 apprx
