SATYAMEVA JAYATE has emerged a HIT film as it grossed 66 crore nett apprx in the first week is a good total for the the film. The film has grossed more than any John Abraham solo release in just nine days. The best before was PARMANU at 65 crore nett but there is a huge difference in the shares of the film with SATYAMEVA JAYATE likely to be at a share of 34 crore while PARMANU was not even 29 crore.

The film has shown a very strong holiday on Thursday with collections at a similar level to Monday and its also the first time in the first nine days that it has collections at a similar level to GOLD. This would actually indicate that the film could do better than GOLD in week two but its possible that GOLD will still be number one choice for the crucial weekend audience.

SATYAMEVA JAYATE continued to do well as it collected 5 crore nett on its eight day as it got a boost due to Bakri Eid. The total of the film stands at 62.50 crore nett which is a very good number for this film. There will be a drop in collections tomorrow and probably in week two also but even then it is sure to emerge a HIT.

This film will the biggest HIT for John Abraham as the solo lead although WELCOME BACK can also be called a solo lead as the other leads were more character actors rather than leads but the problem with that film was  that it was driven by those charcters. Its a big result for SATYAMEVA JAYATE and the Friday number will tell how far the film can go.

SATYAMEVA JAYATE had a drop in business on Monday as it collected in the 3.25-3.50 crore nett range. The drop is 55% from its Friday so all that it is more than the regular drop it actually becomes a normal drop as Monday is the sixth day for the film.

This number is more than good enough for the film and will emerge a HIT as long as the collections have a normal trajectory from here on. The film held better across single screens and should get a good two week run in single screens especially UP, Gujarat and Maharashtra. The first day collections of 18-19 crore nett have ensured that even if the film does not quite sustain it is still a winner.

SATYAMEVA JAYATE is A HIT as it went up a little on Tuesday to 3.75 crore nett and took its a total to around 57.50 crore nett. There is the holiday for Bakri Eid to come which should give it another boost especially as Muslim centres are very strong on Bakri Eid and the film has done in these centers from day one.

This film is doing so so numbers in North but Bihar, CP Berar, CI, Nizam/Andhra, Gujarat and Maharashtra have done very well for the film with the smaller multiplexes and single screens collecting good numbers in these areas. The first week range for the film looks 65-68 crore nett depending on the jump it gets on Bakri Eid.

It will find it tough to hold post the extended first week but the job is more than done. The producers did sell the film at a discount without making a profit but them there should be good Overflow coming from India theatrical to put the makers in the black also.

SATYAMEVA JAYATE has done well over its extended weekend as it collected 50.50 crore nett. The film has done well to be just 20 crore nett less than the bigger film GOLD over the first five days. The film also recovered on Sunday as mass centres went strong again.

The film has done very well in UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI, Nizam Andhra and Gujarat. Barring UP and Rajasthan it has managed to collect more than GOLD in the above circuits over the five day period. The trend has been so so after the first day but it did see a recovery on Sunday. Due to the big five day total the film does not need to much over the weekday period and if it sustains it will turn out to be a major HIT.

SATYAMEVA JAYATE had a decent fourth day as it grossed 7.25 crore nett to take its total to nearly 41 crore nett. the film showed a little drop as single screens where the film was registering good collections showed a noticeable drop but that is sort of expected after a good run for three days.

The film is not going up after the big fall post the national holiday but is holding flat collections at the 7 crore nett plus level which will do for the film as it has that huge opening day total to its credit. There should be a jump on business on Sunday as the single screens should be back up again.

SATYAMEVA JAYATE is unlikely to sustain in the long run because the trend is weak over the last two days but just a normal follow through until the end of the week will see the film get a good result.

SATYAMEVA JAYATE grossed 7.50 crore nett on its third day to take its three day total to 33.50 crore nett. The film could not grow on Friday after the fall on Thursday but still the overall collections are pretty good due to that big opening day.

The film is doing better in mass circuits but GOLD went in the lead in Rajasthan and Nizam/Andhra on Friday for the first time when SATYAMEVA JAYATE had a healthy lead in these two on Thursday. The film is going to be about the mass circuits like CP Berar, Bihar and CI going forward as the bigger circuits like East Punjab and Mumbai are going to find it tougher due to the lack of growth on Friday. The huge plus is that a film has a good total under the belt already and so even limited growth over the weekend will do for the film.

Saturday had a few areas having a holiday due to the death of an ex prime minister and in Mumbai it was holiday for the Parsi New Year and despite these advantages the film could not go up which could turn out to be a problem in the long run though that remains to be seen.

The collections over the last two days are on the expected lines for SATYAMEVA JAYATE but that  is hugely surprising as Independence Day numbers puts its in a good position after three days.

SATYAMEVA JAYATE saw a heavy drop on day two as it came out of a national holiday and it collected 7.25-7.50 crore nett apprx. This takes its two day total to 26 crore nett which is still a good total but it remains to be seen what happens to the film from here on.

The film did manage to beat competition Gold in CP Berar, CI, Nizam/Andhra, Bihar, Assam and Odisha on day one and it is these places which have held up better on day two though the drop is still big. This sort of drop is rare considering how well the film did well on day one. It is actually crash range but due to the Wednesday release it has to be given benefit of doubt and remains to be seen what happens over the next couple of days.

The plus for the film is that big opening day number so if the film trickle along with the Thursday sort of numbers over the next few days it will still be an okay result for the film.

Obviously it needs to recover and go up to have a good result at the box office but even at the Thursday levels it will be okay commercially though it would mean it is not appreciated. It is difficult to judge what is going to happen today as there is no precedent especially in recent history.
