CALENDAR GIRLS had a poor weekend as it grossed 4.25 crore nett. The writing was on the wall for the film on day one as it could not gross anything much despite it being a holiday. The collections were best on day one. The film has done a little better in Mumbai circuit. The budget is low for the film but the the film has done just 50% of what it should have leaving no chance of recovery.

The other release of the week BHAAG JOHNNY was a washout grossing around 70-75 lakhs nett over the weekend. The holdover of last week KATTI BATTI also crashed out with a 90% plus drop from last week. The film grossed around 1.25 crore nett taking its business to around 23 crore nett.

KATTI BATTI will stay below the 25 crore nett mark. The other release of last week MSG 2 - THE MESSENGER is a disaster although the drop in second weekend is less than KATTI BATTI, the film grossed only 4 crore nett in week one which gave it little hope of survival.

CALENDAR GIRLS was poor on Monday with low collections. The drop is also almost 60% from Friday. The first four days of the first week for CALENDAR GIRLS are as follows.

The first week will be around 6.25 crore nett and lifetime will close at 7 crore nett max.

KATTI BATTI, the holdover from last week crashed further at the boxoffice with a 90% plus drop. The film grossed around 40-50 lakhs on day eight and as it was a holiday there is not likely to be much of a weekend lift so the weekend may finish around 1.50 crore nett

WELCOME BACK and HERO are out of most theatres and both will have limited collections in their fourth and third weeks respectively.

KATTI BATTI had a poor first week grossing 21.75 crore nett. The best day for the film was practically the first day and that has probably never happened for a metro film.

The collections dropped badly on Monday and is out of most theatres this week. No territory fared well though comparatively the film did better in Delhi/UP and East Punjab due to the NCR area. Delhi /UP grossed 5.50 crore nett apprx and East Punjab grossed 3 crore nett apprx. The film was set in the Mumbai Pune area but it fared very poorly in Mumbai circuit with business of 6.25 crore nett. The lifetime business of the film will close below 25 crore nett.

The two other releases of last week - MEERUTHIYA GANGSTERS and MSG 2 - THE MESSENGER - fared very poorly with the latter collecting a little in Delhi and Haryana but hardly anything elsewhere.

KATTI BATTI had a low weekend and more importantly the film had no trend. The film collected around 5.25 crore nett on all three days of the weekend. The opening day was fair as evenings picked up but Saturday and Sunday also remained at those same levels. This is very rare for urban films as its hard to remember one which did not improve collections on Saturday by at least 10%. The weekend total is 15.75 crore nett

This sort of film should have gone near 20 crore nett for the weeknd from the start it got. The best business has come in the Delhi NCR belt with Delhi /UP hitting 3.75 crore nett and East Punjab grossing 2.10 crore nett. Mumbai was a poor 4.50 crore nett.

The trend means that Monday will be tough and that normal 50% Monday drop looks impossible considering Sunday is similar to Friday. It was the 18th best weekend of the year.

KATTI BATTI crashed out on Monday which was likely to happen considering the weekend trend. The film dropped around 65% from day one. The first four days of the first week  for Katti Batti are as follows.

The first week will be around 22 crore nett and it will be a struggle for the film to hit 25 crore nett.

KATTI BATTI struggled on its second day as the film failed to grow. Saturday growth is a must for urban films and it's rare to see one not going up. The first two days of week two for KATTI BATTI are as follows.

The film needed to be at 6.5-7 crore nett on Saturday and is far less which means no appreciation amongst it's target audience which was the metros.

KATTI BATTI had a decent first day of 5.25 crore nett as collections picked up in metros in the evening. The collections should pick up further today and if the film can jump up 40-50% it will put it in a good position. The collections are lower than last week's Hero which was coincidentally directed by the same director. That film did not grow on Saturday but this has a chance as it is catering to the metro audience and this audience comes out on Saturday.

The best performance has come in Delhi /UP and East Punjab with collections going to 1.25 crore nett in Delhi /UP and 70 lakhs nett in East Punjab. Mumbai grossed around 1.65 crore nett.

The collections in Gujarat/Saurashta, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI, UP, and Bihar were poor and even multiplexes in these areas did not collect well. These belts will not pick up much so Its fate depends on how well it sustains at metros over the week.
