KARTHIKEYA 2 had a decent third Monday collecting 50 lakhs nett as it took its overall total to 20 crore nett plus. The third week collections stand at 4.75 crore nett and the third week is likely to end up with 6.25 crore nett.

The third week will show a drop of around 45% which is decent trending also. There will be no competition in this week which will allow the film hold well in the fourth week and it should get to around 25 crore nett before the release of BRAHMASTRA.

Karthikeya 2 should comfortably chase down the 23 crore nett of ROCKETRY: THE NAMBI EFFECT.

KARTHIKEYA 2 had a good third weekend as it collected 4.25 crore nett apprx taking its overall business to 20 crore nett. The film was held back on Sunday by the cricket match on Sunday but still it did well to record collections in the same range as Saturday. It could cover some of the Sunday lost ground over the weekdays as the film is being liked in some areas.

The film is still behind ROCKETRY: THE NAMBI EFFECT which is the best import from the South in recent times after the big three of KGF - CHAPTER 2, RRR and PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01, and it should cross the R Madhavan-starrer by the end of the third week. Then the film should go on to cross the 25 crore nett mark which will make it and AVERAGE / SEMI HIT fare. The film was being driven by Maharashtra for almost two weeks but in the third week it is Uttar Pradesh which is doing best comparatively.

KARTHIKEYA 2 showed huge growth on its third Saturday as it collected 1.50-1.75 crore nett apprx which is more than double the collections of the previous day. The total collections of the film are now 18 crore nett as it continues its slow and steady run.

The collections on Sunday could be affected by the big India v Pakistan cricket match though it will be normal for the peak Sunday business between 2-6 pm as the match is late. The film is on course to cross the 25 crore nett mark which will make it and AVERAGE/SEMI HIT fare.

The film was being driven by Maharashtra for almost two weeks but in the third week it is Uttar Pradesh which is doing best comparatively.

DOBAARAA had an awful first week with collections of just 3.25 crore nett. The film just collapsed from Monday and is more or less out of cinemas in the second week. The film had collected 2.50 crore nett over the first weekend but added just 75 lakhs nett over the weekdays. Still these disaster numbers are better than SHABAASH MITHU which had a similar cast.

The dubbed film from South KARTHIKEYA 2 did far better than DOBAARAA despite being in its second week as it collected around 11 crore nett in its second week and this figure is almost three times higher than the first week. The film had a six day first week while the first two days were minimal screens which meant limited collections. The second week saw the film playing in over 1000 cinemas which helped the collections.

The total collections of the this film are now around 15.75 crore nett and the film should continue to run well for a few weeks more which should allow the film to get to 25 crore nett plus which is a good result. The film is being driven by Maharashtra which is the norm for these dubbed film barring the likes of KGF - CHAPTER 2 or RRR which see break out across the board which has to happen for the numbers they got.

DOBAARAA saw a huge crash in collections on Monday as it collected 20 lakhs nett. The film was only released in theatres as the streaming giants are insisting on theatrical releases before digital. It will be said that this film is for digital but the fact is bad films don't work anywhere.

The film has grossed 2.70 crore nett so far and the first week will do a little under 3.25 crore nett. The lifetime will probably struggle to hit the 3.50 crore nett mark.

The dubbed film from South KARTHIKEYA 2 did very well in Maharashtra and Gujarat over Janmashtami period but Gujarat dropped on Monday. The film has collected in the 1-1.25 crore nett range on Monday which takes its total collections to 14 crore nett.

The second week of the film will be around 12 -13 crore nett which is pretty good and the film should cross the business of ROCKETRY: THE NAMBI EFFECT which will make it the best performer from South after KGF - CHAPTER 2, RRR and PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01 in recent times. Obviously the gap between those films and KARTHIKEYA 2 is huge as this film is more of a moderate success compared to those films. The way it went up over the first three days, it really looked it would break out and go somewhere but it was not to be.

DOBAARAA is a poor fare as it collected around 2.50 crore nett in its opening weekend. The opening day collections were actually not that bad as SHABAASH MITHU had hardly collected 40 lakhs but day one was padded up a little by the Janmashtami holiday.

The film failed to grow much on day two which was always going to happen. And then Sunday audience does not care much for this type of content due to which, it remained flat.

The dubbed film from South KARTHIKEYA 2 is doing pretty very well in Maharashtra and Gujarat and collections on Sunday went to the 4 crore nett mark. Its the areas where South films are more readily accepted which is pushing the film forward but it will face competition from LIGER this week which will compete for the same audience.

The film is much less in the North where even in UP where it could really score it is much less than Maharashtra. The film is sharing many single screens with RAKSHA BANDHAN in the state but despite total rejection, RAKSHA BANDHAN still has slightly better numbers. This film has collected around 13 crore nett so far.

The new release this week, DOBAARAA, was a poor fare as it collected in the 65-75 lakh range. These type of films have little chance at the box office but are having to be released as per the demands of the OTT platforms as they don't want direct releases unless its a big star or banner where the relationship is good.

Considering the sort of initials taken by LAAL SINGH CHADDHA and DOBAARAA, then this 65 lakh plus number for DOBAARAA is pretty much par for the course for the film which holds very little appeal. It has managed to get better collections than SHABAASH MITHU which had collected around 40 lakhs nett on day one.

The dubbed film from South KARTHIKEYA 2 is doing pretty well on its second Friday with collections in the 1.50-1.75 crore nett. The film had a six day first week and the first two days it hardly had a release and slowly went wider and wider with the second Friday being the widest.

The film has grossed around 6.50 crore nett till date and could compete with ROCKETRY: THE NAMBI EFFECT which is the biggest film from the South at around 21-22 crore nett outside the films which got tremendous appreciation and were winners. ROCKETRY: THE NAMBI EFFECT was a bilingual like RADHE SHYAM but the audience does not really distinguish between bilingual and dubbed as the faces tell if its a South film and general perception will go towards dubbed.

The South dubbed film KARTHIKEYA 2 flattered to deceive as collections on the big holiday for Independence Day were good and considering where it had come from it looked like there was some solid momentum behind the film and it could really go on. But it was not to be as collections came down on Tuesday.

Actually its not right to say collections were good on Independence Day; it was more that occupancy was good. The collections were down to around 60-70 lakhs nett on Tuesday which means the film has collected 2 crore nett after 4 days and though it may be able to sustain for a few weeks on these very low collections, the overall total will not be going anywhere.

This is mainly because the whatever little traction the film got on Independence Day was mainly in Maharashtra and Gujarat while most other areas are not that interested in the film or maybe not aware. These areas also dropped on Tuesday but they will probably continue with these low collections for some time.

It is beating LAAL SINGH CHADDHA in Gujarat and will also go ahead of RAKSHA BANDHAN in the next few days. In Maharashtra, it will also go ahead of both films before the week is out.

The South dubbed film KARTHIKEYA 2 is holding steady on low collections and beating RAKSHA BANDHAN and LAAL SINGH CHADDHA in Maharashtra. Gujarat and various other centres. This film will get the benefit of Janmashtami and do a first week of 4-4.50 crore nett. It could even do more as the film could really jump due to the holiday factor. On Independence Day, it looked like the film could really break out into something bigger as the occupancy at many places was very good. But these occupancy rates came down post the holiday.

The South dubbed film KARTHIKEYA 2 is attempting to break out as it did well on the Independence Day holiday in terms of occupancy with collections being twenty times higher than the first day at many places. The final collections from many circuits are still to come but it may have collected around 1.25 crore nett on the big holiday which is not exactly a high number but the film started with just a few lakhs.

The film is a sort of mythological adventure film from the Telugu film industry and has done very well there since release on Saturday. It still remains to be how it does in Hindi as do the collections continue to go upwards as there is huge potential or is this the highest point for the film. The film has got enough of an audience in on Monday to work with word of mouth which was not the case on Saturday or Sunday.

In Maharashtra, the film was competing with RAKSHA BANDHAN and LAAL SINGH CHADDHA in terms of collections in many cinemas while in Gujarat it was competing with LAAL SINGH CHADDHA. These films may not be doing well but to compete with them is sill an achievement in these states.

It remains to be seen what happens over the next few days as if the film can really push, it can benefit with the open period as the big Hindi films will fall from today.
