इस ओटीटी पर रिलीज होगी जिगरा और विक्की विद्या का वो वाला वीडियो, जान लें कब और कहां देख सकेंगे फिल्म
Box Office India Trade Network

VICKY VIDYA KA WOH WALA VIDEO beat JIGRA by around 4 crore nett mainly due to support from the Hindi speaking belts. JIGRA was actually better in Mumbai and South but most of the other areas were way better for VICKY VIDYA KA WOH WALA VIDEO. JIGRA also managed to score better in Kolkata but overall, Eastern India was still better for VICKY VIDYA KA WOH WALA VIDEO.

The killer for JIGRA was the NCR belt as this meant it became more of a four city film (Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Kolkata) with the other one, Delhi city, showed huge underperformance. There is not much chance for a film like JIGRA when centres like Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon are lower than VICKY VIDYA KA WOH WALA VIDEO. Gurgaon is a shocker considering its practically a total high end centre.

The shape of the box office still remains the same as it was around 50 years back as Mumbai and South show outperformance for the urban films. In 1975, there were blockbusters like DEEWAAR and SANYASI and it was the same then when the more urban DEEWAAR scored better in Mumbai and South while SANYASI was ahead in the rest of the country. The only difference then was probably that at that time even Kolkata was on the side of the more commercial film which is not the case now as those huge multiplexes in the city make a big difference.

The first week circuit figures of JIGRA and VICKY VIDYA KA WOH WALA VIDEO are as follows

Jigra Box Office Collection Day 7: Alia Bhatt's Film's Week 1 Report Card
Box Office India Trade Network

JIGRA collected poorly in the first week and the trend was poor as well because the drops continued on the weekdays. The film is mainly for metros and after the Monday drop, it should have held if that target audience had given even some support. The first week is around 22 crore nett which is 10% less than VICKY VIDYA KA WOH WALA VIDEO and that is a smaller film.

JIGRA has expectations mainly due to the presence of Alia Bhatt but it was always going to ne a tough ride as the trailer did not make much impact. Then checking the director filmography whose last film was some film called MONICA O MY DARLING which did not release in cinemas but just the trailer is so bad that you can write with almost 100% confident it would have been a sure shot disaster.

The penny has to drop in the film industry that directors who give a treatment in this way and tell stories like this will rarely give box office collections. Its another matter that the film has enough revenue from digital and satellite to cover the budget. But eventually, its about box office and the content has been rejected. The whole batch of those European directors pre pandemic have sort of been flushed out and the last thing this film industry needs is another batch as it will mean curtains down especially if the stars align. Today every story must have a feel and treatment which gives it the widest reach possible and with this all genres can work.

The first week numbers of JIGRA are as follows.
Friday - 4,50,00,000
Saturday - 6,50,00,000
Sunday - 5,50,00,000
Monday - 1,65,00,000
Tuesday - 1,50,00,000
Wednesday - 1,30,00,000
Thursday - 1,20,00,000
TOTAL - 22,15,00,000 apprx
---------------------------------------
JIGRA dropped further on day eight as it collected 1 crore nett despite having no new release for competition. The film has now collected a little over 23 crore nett and from here it may even be a struggle to reach 35 crore nett as practically nothing will come post week three. The film should show strong growth on Saturday as a huge ratio of business is coming from multiplexes which jump on Saturday.

The collections of JIGRA till date are as follows.
Friday - 4,50,00,000
Saturday - 6,50,00,000
Sunday - 5,50,00,000
Monday - 1,65,00,000
Tuesday - 1,50,00,000
Wednesday - 1,30,00,000
Thursday - 1,20,00,000
Week One - 22,15,00,000 apprx
Friday - 1,00,00,000
TOTAL - 23,15,00,000 apprx

Jigra collects 19.55 cr in 5 days

Jigra Box Office Collection Day 5: Alia Bhatt's Film Continues To Witness Dip
Box Office India Trade Network

JIGRA continued its downtrend as it dropped another 15% from Monday which itself was a big drop and a low number. The film collected 1.40 crore nett apprx on Tuesday which takes the film to 19.50 crore nett in five days. The first week will now finish at around 22 crore nett.

The film has faced rejection and that is with the metro audience too which was the audience which could take the film somewhere but it was not to be. It is a struggle for films catering to this audience as lesser people are coming out for the mid level films anyway and then you restrict it further by having content just for a few cities.

The industry will see the lifetime collections as a bit shocking as the film has Alia Bhatt but with this type of content, there is always a chance of such low numbers due to the limited appeal.

The five day numbers of JIGRA are as follows.
Friday - 4,50,00,000
Saturday - 6,50,00,000
Sunday - 5,50,00,000
Monday - 1,65,00,000
Tuesday - 1,40,00,000
TOTAL - 19,55,00,000 apprx

Box Office India Trade Network

JIGRA had a big drop on Monday as collections fell around 63% from a low Friday. The film collected around 1.65 crore nett which takes the film to over 18 crore nett in four days and means the first week will end up at around 22 crore unless it holds similar collections to Monday over the next three days which will take it to 23 crore nett.

Either way, the film has faced rejection and that is with the metro audience which was the audience which could take the film somewhere but it was not to be.

There are no releases for the next two weeks but this drop means that at best JIGRA can just meander along till Diwali.

The four day numbers of JIGRA are as follows.
Friday - 4,50,00,000
Saturday - 6,50,00,000
Sunday - 5,50,00,000
Monday - 1,65,00,000
TOTAL - 18,15,00,000 apprx

Jigra Box Office Collection Day 3: Alia Bhatt's Film Sees A Slight Dip
Box Office India Trade Network

JIGRA collected a poor 16.50 crore nett in its first weekend and the trend is not for there for the film either. Like VICKY VIDYA KA WOH WALA VIDEO, the hope was that Dussehra playing out differently due to the limited growth on Saturday. But to achieve that, Sunday had to go up which did not happen.

The film looked metro heavy from the trailer which meant a limited audience. This also meant that this metro target audience had to love the film for it to do much at the box office and this is a tall order especially post pandemic. The business in metros is better but at the end of day, the appreciation is also missing here.

Films just catering to the metros can still score but with stars its probably a tough road as then there are expectations of a certain box office and those targets are hard to achieve. The film has scored better in Mumbai and South with Mumbai and Mysore coming out with better collections than the competition but the rest are are generally lower.

The performance is probably a little better overseas as collections will be in the $1.3-1.4 million range with Gulf and United Kingdom being decent but considering the genre, US/Canada should have been much better.

The three day numbers of JIGRA are as follows.
Friday - 4,50,00,000
Saturday - 6,50,00,000
Sunday - 5,50,00,000
TOTAL - 16,50,00,000 apprx

Jigra Trailer Gets Big Love From Director Sujoy Ghosh: "Good To Exist In Times Of Alia Bhatt"
Box Office India Trade Network

JIGRA collected around 4.50 crore nett on day one which is on the lower side but this film got hit in Mumbai due to Navratri and Marathi releases. The figure should have gone towards 5 crore nett if all was normal which gives a better look to the opening day number.

The opening number is still decent as the content looks towards that art side but the problem arises as it features a star like Alia Bhatt and hence, the number will be seen as low. Basically, its not up to the mark to the face value of the film.

The film is mainly for metros and that is where the problem lies as the audience is so limited and the film has to be really loved by this audience for it to go anywhere at the box office. This has become tougher post pandemic as earlier, many films used to get numbers with only the metro crowd and some even got to 100 crore nett.

There should be good growth for the film on Saturday as its a big holiday and the Mumbai area has to cover the shortfall of day one and here this film is more of a film for the likes of Mumbai city and Pune than VICKY VIDYA KA WOH WALA VIDEO. The film should eventually be best in Mumbai and South but huge growth is crucial today.

The story of the film had potential especially with a star but when the treatment becomes niche, then the box office will be a struggle especially outside the metros. The film had a Telugu version also but the collection would be just 5 lakhs or at best 10 lakhs nett.
------------------------------------------
JIGRA showed a jump of around 45% on Saturday which seems okay but it was a holiday for Dussehra and one would expect a bigger jump of 70% or even more. But with this jump, it seems more like a normal Saturday rather than a holiday Saturday. The film needed a bigger jump due to the first day being on the lower side.

It will be interesting to see where Sunday goes as that will tell what actually happened on Saturday. Normally when Saturday is a holiday, then Sunday would be flat or even drop especially for a metro heavy film like JIGRA. The two day numbers of the film are 11 crore which is not good and with limited mass support, it will be a surprise if Sunday helps the film much.

The two day numbers of JIGRA are as follows.
Friday - 4,50,00,000
Saturday - 6,50,00,000
TOTAL - 11,00,00,000 apprx
