JIGRA had a big drop on Monday as collections fell around 63% from a low Friday. The film collected around 1.65 crore nett which takes the film to over 18 crore nett in four days and means the first week will end up at around 22 crore unless it holds similar collections to Monday over the next three days which will take it to 23 crore nett.
Either way, the film has faced rejection and that is with the metro audience which was the audience which could take the film somewhere but it was not to be. It is a struggle for films catering to this audience as lesser people are coming out for the mid level films anyway and then you restrict it further by having content just for a few cities.
The industry will see the lifetime collections as a bit shocking as the film has Alia Bhatt but with this type of content, there is always a chance of such low numbers due to the limited appeal. There are no releases for the next two weeks but this drop means that at best JIGRA can just meander along till Diwali.
The four day numbers of JIGRA are as follows.
Friday - 4,50,00,000
Saturday - 6,50,00,000
Sunday - 5,50,00,000
Monday - 1,65,00,000
TOTAL - 18,15,00,000 apprx
