Chennai and Kochi have always been home for Kalyani Priyadarshan. But Mumbai has been the actor’s address throughout this year. That’s thanks to Pralay, director Jai Mehta’s zombie thriller in which she stars opposite Ranveer Singh. Sources have told mid-day that Kalyani, daughter of filmmaker Priyadarshan, has rented a swanky apartment in Juhu from late 2025.

A source revealed, “Kalyani will be living in Mumbai till Pralay is complete. The producers set up a spacious apartment for her in Juhu so that she can focus on the film.”

The move makes sense considering the thriller demands intense prep. Kalyani began training in action in May, before the project rolled in July.

The source added, “Kalyani and Ranveer did multiple readings, workshops, and rehearsals together. After completing the first schedule, Ranveer went on his paternity leave. The unit will resume shooting in October, working till December. Through these months, Kalyani has been training in action and following a special diet as she needs to sport a lithe frame.”

Having a pad also helps the actor, who is foraying into Hindi films with Pralay, find her footing in Bollywood. The source added, “She has been meeting top directors in Mumbai as she wants to do both Hindi and South movies.”
