DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE saw a fantastic hold on Wednesday as it collected 42 crore nett which is just around 10% down from the previous day. The Eid period is over but its Ram Navami on Thursday which should give the film a boost on Thursday. The evenings collections on Wednesday saw this benefit at multiplexes.

The film also crossed the 500 crore nett mark in seven days plus paid previews as collections now stand at 532crore nett. The extended first week now looks to be around 580 crore nett and if it really gets a good jump on Thursday, then the film may even have surpassed all original Hindi films except for DHURANDHAR 1.

The film is looking to set a new benchmark in every circuit with the tougher ones likely to be CP Berar and Odisha where it will be close in terms of the PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE numbers. The 200 crore nett mark in Mumbai circuit was breached by PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE a little more than a year back and this film is now looking to cross 300 crore nett. Its locked to be the first film to cross 200 crore nett in Delhi/UP and maybe East Punjab can do 100 crore nett. The film is just not beating records but shattering them.

The film also has a 23-24 crore nett contribution from languages which means in all versions. It is sure to be 600 crore nett over its extended first week. The film will probably end third week in terms of business from languages after JAWAN and ANIMAL though this is not counting MAHAVATAR NARSIMHA, which is easily the best in terms of languages but that is an animation film.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE has smashed the first week record by leaps and bounds as it collects 492 crore nett which is 130 crore nett more than the previous record holder PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE. The Allu Arjun-starrer itself was 44 crore nett more than PATHAAN, which is a huge margin. It means that over just the first week, DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE has collected around 175 crore nett more than any original Hindi film.

It has had the holiday benefit but so have many other films outside PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and beating records by such margins is just something that can be dreamed about. A few years back, no original Hindi film had even crossed 400 crore nett lifetime and here is a film doing that in just one week. It shows where business has gone today but for the correct films.

The downside to this is the smaller/medium film is not getting the business it used to when no original Hindi film had crossed 400 crore nett. The positive is today when you get a big film right, the upside from theatrical is huge. The non theatrical rights pale into significance because if you ae really going to hit pay dirt, then it will be through theatrical and that is what DHURANDHAR has done. The film split into parts will rake in a profit of easily over 1000 crore with revenue from theatres alone across the world being more than 1100 crore for both parts.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE ended the week with Thursday collecting a huge 44 crore nett. The first day started with a 75 crore nett figure smashing all records and its pretty much the same story on Thursday. Its an eight day week and the drop from day one till day eight is just 40% with collections at a level that has never been seen before.

The extended eight day week total is 576 crore nett which is simply phenomenal and that chase for a 1000 crore nett plus total is on though for that mark there needs to be good hold today even though the film has collected this huge amount in the first week. A drop will happen as it was a holiday for Ram Navami yesterday which pushed collections a little. The growth could have been more but the film was very strong on Wednesday evening which could not be replicated on Thursday evening.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE continued to smash records as it collected around 37 crore nett on its second Friday which is easily the highest collections ever seen on the second Friday. Also considering the level of collections, a 20 % drop is hardly anything. Normally, there is a jump in ticket pricing to weekend rates on the second Friday but this was not the case here as pricing has been pretty much similar from the first day with the makers not dropping rates for the weekdays.

This now takes the film to 613 crore nett and and its pretty certain to be the highest grossing Hindi film within two weeks. The second weekend itself will see the film go to number two with only the first part of DHURANDHAR ahead of it. The first part of the film got a lot of mileage on national television for the political side of the film which really pushed collections but this time its less and its the film doing the talking.

The weekend will no doubt show huge figures and it will be Monday that can be the first test especially as it could be the first time that ticket pricing is lowered. No doubt there will be a hold but at what level remains to be seen. If Monday is only 20-30% down, then it will be a bumper initial film trending like a content film through April. The dubbed versions have also seen a good hold on the second Friday with collections generally better than the day before and that includes the Tamil version. This Friday hold means it has a shot to beat JAWAN figure for dubbed versions though a lot depends where Monday lands.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE set a new record for the highest second Friday of all time with collections of 37 crore nett beating the previous record by around 20%. The record was held by the first part of the film. As far as the second Fridays go, this franchise is totally dominant with collections much higher than the rest.

Outside this franchise there are no films above 25 crore nett and this 37 crore nett has come when a 20 crore nett collection on the second Friday is a huge task. Only PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE, ANIMAL and CHHAAVA have managed it outside the DHURANDHAR films. If we back to pre pandemic time, then the best collection for an original Hindi film was 18 crore nett for DANGAL which has been doubled now by DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE.

Looking at the list below it again has to said that whoever came up with the idea to put this film into two parts was a god send for the film though it may not have been a hard decision as the budget was big and recovery was looking tough when the units of the first part came out. Now its all history as both films are among the biggest HITS ever.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE added another phenomenal 55 cr on its second Saturday which is a solid 50% growth on the previous day. The growth may not look as big as other films but that's because the numbers are at levels which are unreal. So, there will be limitations in terms of growth. The film will be easily be a second weekend record but it will be Monday that will tell if it will be a second week record.

This is because DHURANDHAR part 1 was phenomenal from the second Monday and eventually did 240 crore nett in the second week which is a big target. There will be a boost with the Mahavir Jayanti holiday on Tuesday. So, it should be a 250 crore nett plus week which again will be a first but it depends on where Monday lands.

The film hit the 200 crore nett mark in Mumbai circuit on Saturday with now DHURANDHAR, CHHAAVA and PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE ahead of it and it should cross all three in the long run and the 300 crore nett mark. The film is going to set new records everywhere and its easier to talk about where it may NOT set records and its possible that CP Berar and Odisha will not hit new highs.

The dubbed versions stand at around 34 crore nett and are chasing the 46 crore nett of ANIMAL and 60 crore nett of JAWAN. It remains to be seen if it can reach the total of JAWAN while it should be able to beat ANIMAL.
