Dhurandhar The Revenge collects 1006.93 cr in 83 days

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE still continues to run it is twelfth week as it heads for a 1007 crore nett finish. The film could even make it to a 100 day run in a few cinemas and it will be not be the only film to do that in recent times. There are no films which take such a huge initial in then remain in cinemas for 100 days. The film is going to do more business post the tenth week then the first part of DHURANDHAR where the opening was nothing like DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE.
The film has hit so many benchmarks with big ones being 1000 crore nett and 4 crore footfalls. The film has also made Aditya Dhar the biggest director in the country with the only competition being the director of ANIMAL, Sandeep Reddy Vanga. So the wait is for next year and SPIRIT to see how this equation plays out.
Another huge record is West Bengal circuit as the first DHURANDHAR was an under performer in this circuit which is understandable when its a Hindi belt outperformer like GADAR 2, PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE or KGF - CHAPTER 2. But DHURANDHAR, driven by big plex heavy circuits, should have had higher figures in West Bengal. An All Time Record here was a task but eventually DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE got there. West Bengal was also a circuit where either DHURANDHAR 1 or PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE did not hold the record. Here it was the 2023 blockbuster JAWAN.
The film is the biggest blockbuster for Hindi cinema since GADAR in 2001. The film is being put up there with the likes of SHOLAY and GADAR's first part but only time well. The film is not as big as those on release and more importantly those two passed the test of time like very few before. SHOLAY remained a theatrical force many years after release and there is not much to say about GADAR (2001) as the results of GADAR 2 released 22 years later say it all. Even if it is said what DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE has done today is similar to what SHOLAY did 1975 or GADAR did in 2001 (though it is not) the harder part is to remain huge with another generation all together in years to come. This is what very few films manage.

Dhurandhar The Revenge to end its run with 1652 cr in 73 days; achieves 4 cr footfalls

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE (Hindi) will end its worldwide business at over 1650 crore comfortably making it the biggest worldwide grosser ever for a Hindi film. The previous record holder was DHURANDHAR 1 which did around 1235 crore which means DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is beating its predecessor by over 400 crore crore worldwide.
JAWAN and PATHAAN are the other two Hindi films to cross 1000 crore worldwide outside the DHURANDHAR films. These worldwide collections are coming without business in Gulf which could have been anywhere between 100-200 crore. So, fair value worldwide business for the film will be somewhere in the 1800 crore range.
The film was also released in a regional versions and if we include that, then the collections go up to almost 1720 crore. But in this way it remains behind films like BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and DANGAL. Taking the fair value of Gulf would take the film above BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION but DANGAL remains the top film with 2020 crore plus if all its formats are counted. But it is no comparison with the original Hindi film as DANGAL is 702 crore and DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is 1650 crore plus.
The film is still running in India and may add another one crore to its total. The worldwide collections of DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE till date are as follows.
India - 1214 crore (1006 crore nett)
Overseas - 438 crore ($47.1 million)

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE hit 4 crore footfalls in Hindi with another 30 lakh plus coming from regional versions which takes it footfalls to over 4.3 crore in all versions. Despite doing business of around 275 crore nett more than PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE in Hindi, the footfalls are just 10 lakh more due to the insane pricing at multiplexes.
The huge pricing was just not just for the weekend or week but continued for some time until the collections went to lower levels. This is also why the 1000 crore nett number has to be taken with a pinch of salt as not many films will be able to keep this sort of pricing after the initial days. No doubt some of the bigger films to come can release with even higher pricing than DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE but to sustain this pricing the way the Ranveer Singh-starrer has done is very tough.
It is this sustained high pricing post the first week which has taken the film to 1000 crore and so far ahead of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE. However, its hard to believe with the collections PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE actually had deeper penetration and wider appreciation as far the Hindi circuits are concerned. If we take out South India where PUSHPA had the regional versions, then the footfalls of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE are actually higher by around 30-35 lakhs which is a considerable amount.
All the Hindi circuits have more footfalls for PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE apart from East Punjab and Delhi/UP. There are now seven Hindi films post the pandemic which have crossed 3 crore footfalls. This is basically in the last five years and if we go to the 2010-2019 period then there were around 6-7 films to hit 3 crore footfalls in the whole decade. So, this decade till date compares well.
This also shows the shift of the public to the bigger film as admissions are down generally but they are better for the bigger films. Below are the top ten apprx footfalls post the pandemic for Hindi films. The figure in brackets adds the regional versions when they are there.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE continues to collect even in its tenth week as the week stands at around 1 crore nett with three days to go. The total of the film in ten weeks looks to be heading for 1006 crore nett as it stands at 1005.50 crore at the moment. At this stage of its run, the film is doing better than DHURANDHAR part one which did not collect 1 crore nett in week ten. But these collections so long after release are dependent on the competition around.
The film has hit so many benchmarks with big ones being 1000 crore nett and 4 crore footfalls. Dhurandhar The Revenge first film to cross 300 cr mark in Mumbai circuit

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE became the first film to cross 300 crore nett in Mumbai. It hit the mark in the seventh week and there maybe a couple of crore to come. In 2014, PK hit the 100 crore nett mark and then PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE smashed past 200 crore nett in 2024. Now, less than three years larer, DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE has gone to 300 crore nett plus.
The 300 crore nett mark did look likely as DHURANDHAR had already grossed 239 crore nett. So, doing 25% better was pretty much on the cards. Films like CHHAAVA and PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE have a heavy Maharashtra feel and saw outperformance in the circuit but this is not the case with DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE or even DHURANDHAR. The numbers are huge but there is no out performance in the circuit as it will be a 30% ratio which is the average. PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE was 37% and CHHAAVA was 48%.
DHURANDHAR earning 240 crore nett and DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE collecting 300 crore nett is good news for the Hindi film industry as it was South or a heavy Maharashtra touch which were generally getting the numbers. But here are two films with heavy North flavour putting huge figures in the circuit.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE finally hit the 1000 crore nett mark in its eighth weekend. Although this number would have been declared weeks ago, but that side of the box office has become a bit of a joke now. Actually, makers cant be blamed as expectations are crazy and then you have these posters from South films which makes a mockery of it all. For Hindi when you have PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE type reporting, it was a given that it would go haywire and rest would follow the same pattern.
Irrespective of this, the film is actually the first 1000 crore nett film ever in Hindi. The first original Hindi film ever to hit 1 crore nett was AAN in 1952 and 74 years later its 1000 crore with DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE. The other big benchmarks like these were 10 crore nett in 1975 by SHOLAY and 100 crore nett by GHAJINI in 2008. The 10000 crore nett mark will be hit one day also but we will not be alive to see that.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE had an excellent sixth weekend as it held up better than last week which had the release of BHOOTH BANGLA. This week was pretty much an open week as far as Hindi films go. The film dropped around 36% from the last weekend as compared to a 60% drop when BHOOTH BANGLA released.
This sixth weekend did business of around 7.25 crore nett plus and a double digit week is locked for the film. The total collections of the film are 992 crore nett after its sixth weekend as the film looks to finish over the 1000 crore nett mark. It is a huge run all over as some circuits stand at record totals while others are very close to record figures. The dubbed version will finish at around 61-62 crore nett which will mean a 1065 crore nett finish on all versions.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE saw a good jump on its fourth Tuesday thanks to a holiday for Ambedkar Jayanti and Vaisakhi. The film collected 6.25 crore nett taking its fourth week total 42 crore nett with two days of the week to go. There will be a drop today. So, it should add another 6-7 crore nett for a 48-49 crore nett fourth week total.
This overall total for the film is now a huge 960 crore nett which is way ahead of the 780 crore nett of DHURANDHAR part 1. DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is the third biggest blockbuster this century after GADAR (2001) and BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION (2017) and now it just remains to be seen what happens this Friday when competition arrives for the first time in the form of BHOOTH BANGLA.
The film has benchmarks it can achieve like a 1000 crore nett all India total and 300 crore nett in Mumbai circuit and these depend on what happens this Friday. The film is also looking to become the first film from the industry to hit 100 crore nett in Nizam/Andhra including its dubbed versions. ANIMAL had done 85 crore nett with a better contribution from dubbed versions. Here, Hindi is way better but dubbed is less till date.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE (Hindi) has collected a phenomenal 1592 crore worldwide till date making it the first Hindi film to cross 1500 crore worldwide. The previous best was DHURANDHAR with 1240 crore. Here its looking a 1650 crore plus close which would mean 400 crore more than DHURANDHAR worldwide.
The overseas has seen records set in US, Canada and Australia with the UK record in sight as it has crossed £4.3 million. It needs another £75k to beat the £4.38 million of PATHAAN. This would be a phenomenal achievement for the film considering the dynamics of this circuit.
The film will also have a 70 crore plus worldwide total from its other versions. So, its like that it will end up collecting 1725 crore end in all versions. This way, it will end up beating PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE but less than BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION. PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE was 1625 crore and BAAHUBALI 2 was 1800 crore. However, in all versions, it is a film from the Hindi industry film industry which leads by a margin and that is DANGAL with collections of 2020 crore.
DANGAL remains the only film in India which has crossed the 2000 crore mark but for DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE its that 1650 crore coming in its original format which stands stall and makes it the bigger than DANGAL.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE had another extraordinary week as it collected 49 crore nett in week four which now takes the film to an insane 966 crore nett. It is third highest fourth week of all time after DHURANDHAR which had an out of this world 95 crore nett and the dubbed PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE which got 51 crore nett. CHHAAVA at 41 crore nett and STREE 2 at 31 crore nett make up the other two in the top five.
This film faces competition for the first time with BHOOTH BANGLA. So, it remains to be seen where the film lands today and its just about if the total is high enough to keep it on target for the 1000 crore nett mark. Normally you would expect a similar figure to Thursday but the competition alters that scenario.
There does look a drop in the morning but things change easily by evening for holdover Fridays especially for ones which have been appreciated like this one. The film has added around 60 crore nett in languages which takes the total to all formats to 1025 crore nett and here it will fall short of the 1125 crore nett apprx of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE had a strong hold on its fourth Friday despite the release of BHOOTH BANGLA as it dropped only 20%, collecting around 2.50 crore nett. The film now has a high ratio from the bigger chains as it will be around 65% over the weekend but that is expected this long into the run. The overall total is now 969 crore nett.
The growth will be huge on Saturday as the film may even have chances of doubling up from these lower level of collections. The film remains superb in all the main cities be it Mumbai, Delhi or Bengaluru. The latter is on an extraordinary run as it collects more than Mumbai city and Delhi city.
The film is now getting very close to the figures of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE in some of the mass circuits like Rajasthan, CI and even Odisha and it could overtake by the end of the run. BHOOTH BANGLA was the main competition it was going to face and the film will remain in cinemas for the next months or so and finish with a total of 1000 crore nett apprx.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE has become the highest grossing film in United Kingdom of all time and despite all the records the film has smashed, this is probably the biggest one and also the toughest one. Since the market opened up in the mid 90's and globalization, it has been a tough ride in United Kingdom for patriotic films as slowly around 50% of the audience became non Indians with the Pakistani/Bangladeshi community making a huge share of the box office. Hence, pro India patriotic movies did not hold much appeal for this audience.
It was not always the case though as pre video, it was patriotic films like PURAB AUR PACHHIM (1971) and ROTI KAPADA AUR MAKAAN (1974) dominating the charts. But that was because at the time, it was the Punjabi/Gujarati communities from India or East Africa which had migrated to the UK and they formed the audience.
Traditionally, the United Kingdom has been the biggest market for Hindi from the mid 60's till around the mid 2000's but then slowly these loyalty cards from the biggest chains started to gain traction and business stagnated as watching a film with a loyalty card meant only a one third contribution of the ticket value.
It seems better now as pre pandemic that £3 million mark looked a dream but now five films have crossed the £3 million and two have even crossed £4 million. Also, when a film like DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE can set a new high, there will be potential to go even higher. The plus for DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is that the DHURANDHAR's first part got huge appreciation from the South Indian audience and this audience would have compensated for some of Pakistani/Bangladeshi crowd for the second part but this is unlikely to happen for many other films.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE had an excellent fifth week with collections around 18 crore nett which is a drop of 65% from the previous week mainly as there was a big release like BHOOTH BANGLA. Taking that into consideration and the fact that the film already had a huge 950 crore nett plus total in the board, it does actually make it a strong hold.
The fifth week collections will be the fifth highest of all time with the first part of DHURANDHAR leading the way at 42 crore nett. The overall total of the film stands at 985 crore nett after five weeks. The film is heading for a finish of 1000 crore nett plus as the film continues to do well in the metros, especially Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune.
The film also has a record in terms of dubbed business for a Hindi film. The film has gone past the 60 crore nett mark in dubbed versions with the Telugu version leading the way with 40 crore nett. This is a huge total from dubbed versions as the film does not have names attached to it for any of the southern markets. Obviously expectations were there that it could break out but that is just a problem of understanding as Hindi films do a lot of business in Hindi in the South. So, what happens with some of their films in Hindi dubbed is not going to be replicated by Hindi films in dubbed formats. Altogether. South India will be clocking up a 200 crore nett total and that is huge.

There are four other films to do this and DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE could be the fifth film. Despite an insane initial, the film has continued its momentum into week six and is competing with films which were pick up films.
This film also seen no offers or cinema days or any of that the other stuff which has been going with the bigger grossers to push box office collections. Actually, there has been no need to as it was known before release that it be be biggest shock of all time if something went wrong here as it the ready audience of DHURANDHAR which had 3.50 crore plus admits. DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE had an excellent hold on its fourth Monday as its a holiday on Tuesday which gave the collections a boost on Monday evening. There should be another boost on Tuesday as the film benefits from Vaisakhi/Ambedkar Jayanti. The Monday collections of the film were 4.50 crore nett dropping around 30% from Friday
This takes the fourth week total of the film to 36.50 crore nett and the fourth week is probably looking at a total of around 48 crore nett. If its a better than expected jump on Tuesday, then it could even hit the 50 crore nett mark. DHURANDHAR and PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE are the only other films to hit 50 crore nett in week four.
The overall total of the film is now 953 crore nett and by the end of the week, it should be around 965 crore nett and then it has to only earn 35 crore nett for 1000 crore nett which is not much. The only thing is the film has done so much business till now that you do not know how it will be affected when a new film comes.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE showed growth of 85% on its fourth Saturday and this is the first time that its going to be a normal weekend. The first week was a holiday period while in the second weekend, it was coming from the Eid period of the weekdays. The third Friday was holiday for Good Friday. This has enabled it to get that normal Saturday growth that usually happens for highly appreciated films.
The film collected 12 crore nett on its fourth Saturday which takes the fourth week total to 18.50 crore nett and it will easily go over the 30 crore nett mark for the weekend. The overall total is now 936 crore nett and it should be somewhere around 950 crore nett after the weekend. The trajectory at the moment remains for a 1000 crore nett finish.
The film has now crossed the 200 crore nett mark in Delhi/UP which is a first. After East Punjab, Delhi/UP and the Southern circuits, it is also now the highest grossing film ever in Mumbai as it beats the collections of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE. Basically North, South and West is done with Central and Eastern markets remaining.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE had another superb weekend as it racked up over 30 crore nett in its fourth weekend. It was the first time that the film probably had a normal weekend and because of the lesser weekend trends over the last few weeks, it was thought that the IPL tournament was affecting the film but that does not seem to be the case.
This weekend, the film showed the growth on Saturday which comes with an appreciated film and if Sunday growth was less, that is mainly down to the film being A rated. The collections in the fourth weekend were 31.50 crore nett which takes the film to a huge 949 crore nett.
The film will face its first competition this week with the release of BHOOTH BANGLA, which will be the first real competition. The film has seen an open run till date with some very minor competition coming this week in the form of a south dubbed film DACOIT which did around 4.50 crore nett. The film failed in Hindi and also in its original Telugu form in Nizam/Andhra.
DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is now the leading film in Mumbai, Delhi/UP, East Punjab, Assam, Nizam/Andhra, Mysore and Tamil Nadu/Kerala. It has records in both Tamil Nadu and Kerala but traditionally these states have such minor collections for most Hindi films that they were always put together. There may be a few more circuits which set records but that and the 1000 crore nett mark depends on what happens on Friday when the competition of BHOOTH BANGLA comes.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is the biggest blockbuster seen in recent times and is heading towards a collection of 1000 crore nett or very close which no film has even got anywhere near. In fact, no other film has even crossed 800 crore nett but despite this insane success, the industry dynamics remain pretty much as before. Basically there is no change in sentiment which is a must to get more films in production.
DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is basically seen as the vision of Aditya Dhar who has become the biggest director in India after these two films and no one in history has seen the first three films become such big BLOCKBUSTERS (URI, DHURANDHAR, DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE). Its seen as a one off as this director has done it but its out of reach of others and this can be true but is also an unknown.
Its pretty clear that 1000 or even 1500 crore grossers are not going to get this industry out of this mess. Its not about the grossers as they will come. The figures of DHURANDHAR show its all about theatrical when you really want to make a profit. However, the industry just lacks confidence due to the changed audience post pandemic. The way out will not be the BLOCKBUSTERS but regular more more moderate box office success.
BHOOTH BANGLA will release next week and then there are many films till July and it will be about these films getting results. They do not have to smash the box office but need results which are seen as positive and one or two going going on to become HITS will do no harm. Its a crucial period because if you look down the line, the releases get scarce with just a film a month on average but if the next three months see positive results then the prevailing sentiment within the industry can change somewhat. This could lead to more films from the second half of 2027.
This year we have seen BORDER 2 hold the box office for two weeks and DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE will hold it for four weeks. But it its tough for theatres relying on this as it cant be just about a handful of films.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE recorded a phenomenal third week with collections close to the 100 crore nett mark. The film collected 98 crore nett plus which is not as much as the insane 159 crore nett of DHURANDHAR but it beats every other film in week three including the Hindi version of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE which was around 91.50 crore nett.
DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is comfortably over the 900 crore nett mark as it stands at 918 crore nett and it should add well again this week with the 1000 crore nett mark depending on what happens when BHOOTH BANGLA releases. It will have to get through that week as after that, there again are limited releases and it can collect well for weeks.
The film is ahead of DHURANDHAR part 1 across all circuits now and it is looking to beat the figures of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE in the mass circuits. As of now, the PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE figures in CP Berar and Odisha are out of reach while the JAWAN collections in West Bengal are also out of reach. But in the rest, it has either already become or could become the top film depending on holds from here.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE remained rock steady on its fourth Friday with collections pretty much similar to the day before as collections jumped a little in the major multiplexes while dropping in other places. The film collected 6.50 crore nett which puts it in line for for another strong week and keeps it on track for a 1000 crore nett finish.
The total collections of the film is now 924 crore nett with is almost 150 crore nett more than the last part of DHURANDHAR. It will be probably next Friday that will be will the test for 1000 crore nett when BHOOTH BANGLA will release.
This week there was a dubbed South film DACOIT, which hardly made an impact as it collected 1.25 crore nett. The collections in its home market Nizam/Andhra are also so so.
The weekend should see DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE show strong growth. It will also set a new record in Mumbai circuit over the weekend and a 300 crore nett final total looking possible for the film.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is heading towards becoming the first 200 crore nett film in Delhi/UP as it accumulates 187 crore nett till date. The film has comfortably beaten the figures of DHURANDHAR which had beaten the numbers of STREE 2 by a margin. STREE 2 was the first film to hit 150 crore nett and just 18 months later, a film will inaugurate the 200 crore nett club in this circuit.
Delhi/UP is traditionally a circuit where big stars with larger than life images dominate. A newcomer or lesser star film sometimes did phenomenally well in Mumbai but Delhi/UP was less comparatively as business in UP was so star driven. But now the top three films are DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE, DHURANDHAR and STREE 2. Even if we take the next, GADAR 2, it came at a time when Sunny Deol was not that Sunny Deol of GHATAK, GADAR, etc.
This is just reflective of how the box office is going away from star driven vehicles and if this is happening in Delhi/UP, then other areas will be far ahead in this process. Box office megastardom has been on the downward curve through this century as cinema competes with other forms of entertainment and a trip to the cinemas becomes more and more expensive leaving it out of reach for many. This makes it more about the film than any star. The stardom of Salman Khan for that period post 2010 was probably an abberation to that downward curve of stardom down the years.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE had another huge weekend as it collected 68 crore nett apprx taking its overall total to 887 crore nett. It was a holiday on Friday and so, the weekend saw limited growth on Saturday. On Sunday, it was the same story as last weekend as the A certification holds it back a little. The drop is only 55% from last week and if you factor the holiday on Friday, then its about 60%.
DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE should do around 100 crore nett in its third week and week four will also see the film with no competition which should mean good collections in that week as well. The film remains on target for the 1000 crore nett mark but it all depends on the next few weeks. The trend at the moment suggest an apprx 1000 crore nett finish but all it takes is one bigger drop than expected and things become tougher.
The film is no doubt that it is the biggest BLOCKBUSTER of recent times as footfalls will cross 4 crore in time and this is a mark which is very rare this century. Considering the footfalls of original Hindi films in the 2005-2020 period, you would think 4 crore is impossible after the pandemic when generally admits are less.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE had a strong hold on its third Monday as it collected 8.50 crore nett which is a 57-58% drop from Friday but the Friday was a holiday for Good Friday. The trend does not look good if you compare with DHURANDHAR but that film clocked around 200 crore nett in week one and here it is almost 600 crore nett. If you take out the DHURANDHAR comparisons, then these third Monday figures are excellent and even more so considering the huge opening week of the film.
DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE stands at 896 crore nett till date and will cross the 900 crore nett mark today. The film also crossed the footfalls of DHURANDHAR after its third weekend. It will be around 3.6 crore now for the films as it chases the 3.9 crore of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and the eventually the 4 crore mark. The pricing is at lower rates now but still high for a regular third Monday.
The third week stands at 76.50 crore nett after four days and its probably looking to close in the 95-100 crore nett range. There is only one film with a 100 crore nett third week and that is DHURANDHAR. The film is racking up numbers across and although in some circuits the smaller centres will not reach PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE numbers, the bigger centres in these circuits are more than compensating which may lead to record collections in places like Rajasthan, CI and maybe even Bihar.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is now the third highest collecting HINDI film Overseas after the Shahrukh Khan starrers PATHAAN and JAWAN. It is closing on the collections of these two films but may have to settle for third place as the pace has slowed now. It may edge get to JAWAN but the PATHAAN number looks out of reach.
However, that does not matter as all things considered, it is the number one film in Overseas. The film has the highest totals ever in US, Canada and Australia and even in many smaller territories, it has set new benchmarks. The missing business is in Gulf and PATHAAN and JAWAN got $14m and $17 million there respectively. Even if we give DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE a very modest $10 million from Gulf, it would be sailing past PATHAAN and JAWAN figures and also become first HINDI film to cross $50 million.
DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE has set new highs in USA, Canada and Australia but actually the best performance is United Kingdom where it is still short of PATHAAN. However, United Kingdom has a heavy Pakistan/Bangla crowd and a PATHAAN type of film would be lapped up by that crowd especially with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead while a DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE will see a chunk of this crowd go missing. As a result, for DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE to be even challenging the PATHAAN numbers is pretty much unthinkable. The film has to earn another £300k to become the biggest film in United Kingdom and it will be touch and go whether it gets there. If it gets there it will be the biggest overseas record for DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE collected 23 crore nett on its third Saturday which is a 15% jump from the previous day. Friday was a holiday for Good Friday which meant inflated collections. So, the growth was going to be limited. Generally there was limited growth on Saturday for all the films that are currently being screened in theatres. The two figures are an 43 crore nett which are excellent for the third week.
The film now stands at a huge 848 crore nett and this should go to around 875 crore nett after this weekend which will mean around 100 crore nett more than DHURANDHAR in just eighteen days. The film is totally dominating as far as the market for Hindi films go as there is no other Hindi film around that even collected 10 lakh on Saturday.
DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is the record holder in Delhi/UP, East Punjab, Nizam/Andhra, Mysore and TNK. Basically its North India and South India so far. These are fastest because its the local feel for North and for South its always the scale as far as Hindi films goes. The biggest ones in South India in history are about scale. It should add a few more circuits including Mumbai but there, the gaps will not be like these North and South circuits.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE continues strong run on third Friday as it hits a huge 20 crore nett which is almost as good as the third Friday of DHURANDHAR. But here its come on a holiday for Good Friday which means that the weekend and week will not compete with DHURANDHAR. That always looked the likely scenario as collections had dropped off towards the end of the week.
The collection of the films stands at around 825 crore nett and it is all about getting 100 crore nett up or nearabouts to stay in the race to finish at 1000 crore nett. It will be the weekend growth that will determine that. Not that it makes much of a difference if the film ends at 950 crore nett or 1000 crore nett as its pretty much the same thing.
The bigger record is being the biggest HINDI grosser ever and that is done. Next stop would be to the biggest in India with all languages but that is unlikely as dubbed support is limited which was also likely as a breakout here is very hard. It has left the Hindi version a little too much work to do to reach the PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE all versions figures.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE saw the first noticeable drop on its second Monday and it coincided with the first major drop in ticket rates as well. Despite this drop, the collections still remain huge at 22 crore nett. This is only the second time that a second Monday has gone over 20 crore nett, the first being DHURANDHAR released late last year.
The total collections of the film now stand at 747 crore nett and there is a holiday on Tuesday which should give higher collections on Tuesday as compared to Monday. The second week has so far collected 171 crore nett in its second week and it remains to be seen if it can beat the 240 crore nett of DHURANDHAR.
The film has smashed every record in the book till the second weekend but it as always going to get harder from the second Monday as DHURANDHAR 1 went on a crazy run from its second Monday. The weekday collections of that film on the weekdays were more than historic. As a result, DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE may not set a second weekend record. The film should do enough in week two to become the first film in history to reach 800 crore nett in the history of Hindi cinema.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE crossed the 3 crore footfall mark on its second Monday. It joins GADAR 2, JAWAN, STREE 2, CHHAAVA and DHURANDHAR as the sixth original Hindi film to cross 3 crore footfalls post pandemic. DHURANDHAR leads the race with 3.55 crore footfalls post pandemic and DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is certain to beat that. It should also breach the 4 crore mark comfortably.
The highest footfalls for a film in Hindi post pandemic is PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE which did almost 4 crore which DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE will beat. The average ticket price of DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is going fall around 10% higher than the first part and it will be very close to the 300 mark. The ATP (Average Ticket Price) of DHURANDHAR was around 265 while PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE was 230. Here with DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE, it will probably end in the 290 range.
The 5 crore footfall mark is out of reach as far as the Hindi version goes but including dubbed formats, there is a chance it can get somewhere around 5 crore or close. In this way, JAWAN had around 3.5 crore footfalls with its dubbed versions and DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE will be way ahead by at least 1.25 crore and maybe even 1.50 crore.
The DHURANDHAR films will lead the race post pandemic even if we include all versions. Part 2 will be around 4.75-5 crore and Part 1 will be 3.55 crore and part 1 is only Hindi language without any dubbed versions. Next would be JAWAN at 3.50 crore and then GADAR 2 at 3.40 crore. GADAR 2 was also released in Hindi language only.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE went up a little on Tuesday as it was a holiday for Mahavir Jayanti and it collected around 24 crore nett. The growth was less for a holiday but the film still has high levels of collections. It has done well over 700 crore nett already. The second week collection is already 195 crore nett and it will be second film in history to get over 200 crore nett in week two.
The job is done for the film as its the biggest blockbuster seen in recent times and it will even hit that coveted 4 crore footfall mark which no film in Hindi has done since 2001. But there is that 1000 crore nett target and then also the target to beat PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE in all versions. These targets are not foregone issues.
Obviously its about 1000 crore first and although it should get there, its not easy to cover almost 200 crore nett after the second week. This is especially when a film took such a huge opening. The film also has a huge ratio from South India and here outside Bangalore collections, don't really hold well. If we include dubbed versions, then the film will become the first from the Hindi film industry to hit 200 crore nett in South India by the end of the week.
DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is also on the verge of becoming of the highest grosser in Hindi and that will happen today and by the end of the week it will be the first film to cross 800 crore nett. Then its about 900 crore nett which will happen and then it remains to be seen if 1000 crore nett is reached.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE became the highest grossing Hindi film on Wednesday as it crossed the business of the previous record holder, DHURANDHAR, within 14 days. The collection on the second Wednesday was 17.50 crore nett which takes the film to 788 crore nett. It will become the first film to breach 800 crore nett today.
The collections have come down to lower levels on Wednesday but this was expected as the run has been beyond phenomenal so far. You just cant hold collections at that level especially with such high ratio of business from South India where its a front loaded market for Hindi films outside Bangalore. The film has covered 3.2 crore admits in just 14 days and paid previews. So, this pace just can't continue.
Basically now its about the 1000 crore nett mark and the wait to see if this film can reach there. Its a huge benchmark just like 1, 10 and 100 were and now its 1000. If we go by original Hindi films, then 1 crore nett came in 1952, then 10 crore nett came in 1975 and 100 crore nett came in 2008. Now the wait is for 1000 crore nett which will come one day. It remains to be seen whether it will be DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE or some other film.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE had a huge second week of 218 crore nett. This is 60% drop from the first week which was an extended first week eight days and paid previews as well. On top of it, the first week was full of holidays which was not there in week two. The collections have come down to lower levels over the last two days but this inevitable due to that huge first week where records were shattered by miles.
The film has a total collection 805 crore nett so far becoming the first film to cross 800 crore nett. The film has set a new high for for a Hindi film but circuit wise it is only East Punjab and Southern circuits where it has set new highs. Most of the others should come by the end of this week though in a couple of circuits, its unlikely to reach top spot. The race now is for 1000 crore nett figure.
It would be great if the film can beat the 1125 crore nett of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE in all versions but that does look difficult due to these lower collections over the last two days and limited support in dubbed formats. The film has almost 50 crore nett from its dubbed versions. So, its total on all versions is around 853 crore nett. Including this, the 1000 crore nett mark is sure to come. For Hindi alone, DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE will need a 100 crore third week to keep on target for the 1000 crore nett mark.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE saw the second highest second week of all time as it fell a little short of the record set by DHURANDHAR in December. DHURANDHAR had collected 242 crore nett as compared to the 228 crore nett by the sequel. Only this franchise has got over the 200 crore nett mark in week two and both films have done that by comfortable margins.
The 100 crore nett mark in week two is still tough despite these two films crossing 200 crore nett. Only ten original Hindi films have managed to do it and are listed below. All films are post pandemic with DANGAL being the only one before the pandemic to hit 100 crore nett in week two. From dubbed films, BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE have managed 100 crore nett plus second weeks.
The potential for the bigger films is going up and up and very fast as a 200 crore nett second would have been unthinkable 2-3 years back. Not only do you have 200 crore nett second weeks, there is the potential of a 100 crore nett third week as well,. Before the pandemic, only BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION had crossed 50 crore nett in week three and here DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE will be going for 100 crore nett which the first part has already achieved.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE collected a huge 57 crore nett on its second Sunday which again is the highest collection ever on a second Sunday. The growth is limited but that can be down to the 'A' certification. It was a similar situation last week but it was in Eid period then. So, it was hard to tell. Generally films with 'A' certification tend to grow less on Sunday. The second weekend saw a record breaking 149 crore nett total. Only three films have done more than this in the whole second week itself.
There was the exception of DHURANDHAR part 1 but that worked more as a content film and its momentum was upwards. ANIMAL in 2023 saw limited growth on Sundays and that had also had collections at high levels. It is easier to get that Sunday growth when collections are at lower levels. There is also the start of IPL which could have affected collections on Saturday and Sunday but it would have been minimal.
The film has now hit 725 crore nett and today, it will cross the business of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) and by the end of the week it will be the highest grossing Hindi film as it beats the figures of DHURANDHAR. Monday could also be the first time that the film does not see the highest collection as the second Monday could be lower than DHURANDHAR1 as so much business has been done already. For the first time, there is a drop in ticket pricing though its still much higher than normal for a film in the weekdays of week two.
The dubbed versions stand at around 38 crore nett and the collections today will probably tell if it can beat the 60 crore nett of JAWAN.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE has smashed all records and its a forgone conclusion that it will become the highest grossing HINDI film ever be it India or Worldwide. Overseas, there is some way to go but its coming without any business from Gulf. So, in reality, the job is done there also though in the final number, it may not show due to the missing business.
The last ten years or so has seen films come in many versions outside the actual Hindi version and you also have films travelling from the South which also have many versions. This has meant the top grossing films in India over the last ten years have not been Hindi films and have actually been from the South. This has been seen as domination from the South which is far from the truth as its just rare films here and there. Generally, most of these films from the South have not done well.
There is a 100 year plus history of cinema in India and its mainly been dominated by Hindi Cinema. Its another thing that today Hindi Cinema is known as a profanity like Bolly***d and maybe it deserves it going by the cinema coming out buts it degrading for the legends and legendary films which made it what it is today. Its the reason that this profanity is never used on this website and its always HINDI CINEMA even though today its not the same as it was with Alien content and the English language becoming dominant in the industry.
Generally, over the last 100 years, Hindi cinema has always had the biggest grosser in India. There was an excursion in from 1949 till 1957 when a Tamil film CHANDRALEKHA was the top grosser. From 2017 till date, we have seen BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE become the top grossers in India and even in Hindi. There was a minor excursion with Tamil film ENTHRAN also in 2010 which lasted three years. This is the only one that did it with minor support from the Hindi markets. Basically from 2010, its not been what it used to be like before.
In the 70's, SHOLAY did more business in South India (Nizam/Andhra, Mysore/Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala) than any South Indian film and that just in Hindi language. DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE may reach 250 crore nett in South India in all versions but that is nothing compared to what SHOLAY did if we compare with the local films.
In the early 80's, there was a Telugu film, PREMABHISHEKAM, which smashed all records in South by leaps and bounds but its collection was just the same as an Hindi under performer like THE BURNING TRAIN. This is nett collection we are talking about and if we take GBOC, then THE BURNING TRAIN's collections go almost double of PREMABHISHEKAM. This is because there was huge Entertainment Tax across the Hindi markets while the South states were pro cinema with far less entertainment taxes. The domination of Hindi Cinema when it was Hindi Cinema was such that it was like 1-100 and the next industry was 101.
DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE has a chance to set the record straight as despite all these records, the most important one will be that a film from the Hindi film industry can again become the highest collecting film in India. The worldwide figure is not an issue as DANGAL remains top. That film, also like the South films has many versions, and here, DANGAL is still number one due to the Overseas collections.
In India, its a different story as from 2017, its been about BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE. At present, its PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE with business of 1125 crore nett across India on all versions of the film. This is the target for DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE. So, basically the Hindi version getting to around 1075 crore nett should be enough and from here it will not be easy for South films as they need Hindi market business and there is some fatigue. PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE broke all records but when you delve deeper into break up of collections, there were signs of fatigue in some of the circuits though you cant tell that with the overall number. It will not be easy for South films to get big numbers from Hindi markets which is a must if you want to be the top film. If DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE can cross PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE, it will set the record straight for Hindi Cinema and it will also be hard for regional industries to challenge no matter how big the film is.
The question is can DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE do it and it might look easy at the moment but there is still some distance to cover.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE saw a fantastic hold on Wednesday as it collected 42 crore nett which is just around 10% down from the previous day. The Eid period is over but its Ram Navami on Thursday which should give the film a boost on Thursday. The evenings collections on Wednesday saw this benefit at multiplexes.
The film also crossed the 500 crore nett mark in seven days plus paid previews as collections now stand at 532crore nett. The extended first week now looks to be around 580 crore nett and if it really gets a good jump on Thursday, then the film may even have surpassed all original Hindi films except for DHURANDHAR 1.
The film is looking to set a new benchmark in every circuit with the tougher ones likely to be CP Berar and Odisha where it will be close in terms of the PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE numbers. The 200 crore nett mark in Mumbai circuit was breached by PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE a little more than a year back and this film is now looking to cross 300 crore nett. Its locked to be the first film to cross 200 crore nett in Delhi/UP and maybe East Punjab can do 100 crore nett. The film is just not beating records but shattering them.
The film also has a 23-24 crore nett contribution from languages which means in all versions. It is sure to be 600 crore nett over its extended first week. The film will probably end third week in terms of business from languages after JAWAN and ANIMAL though this is not counting MAHAVATAR NARSIMHA, which is easily the best in terms of languages but that is an animation film.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE has smashed the first week record by leaps and bounds as it collects 492 crore nett which is 130 crore nett more than the previous record holder PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE. The Allu Arjun-starrer itself was 44 crore nett more than PATHAAN, which is a huge margin. It means that over just the first week, DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE has collected around 175 crore nett more than any original Hindi film.
It has had the holiday benefit but so have many other films outside PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and beating records by such margins is just something that can be dreamed about. A few years back, no original Hindi film had even crossed 400 crore nett lifetime and here is a film doing that in just one week. It shows where business has gone today but for the correct films.
The downside to this is the smaller/medium film is not getting the business it used to when no original Hindi film had crossed 400 crore nett. The positive is today when you get a big film right, the upside from theatrical is huge. The non theatrical rights pale into significance because if you ae really going to hit pay dirt, then it will be through theatrical and that is what DHURANDHAR has done. The film split into parts will rake in a profit of easily over 1000 crore with revenue from theatres alone across the world being more than 1100 crore for both parts.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE ended the week with Thursday collecting a huge 44 crore nett. The first day started with a 75 crore nett figure smashing all records and its pretty much the same story on Thursday. Its an eight day week and the drop from day one till day eight is just 40% with collections at a level that has never been seen before.
The extended eight day week total is 576 crore nett which is simply phenomenal and that chase for a 1000 crore nett plus total is on though for that mark there needs to be good hold today even though the film has collected this huge amount in the first week. A drop will happen as it was a holiday for Ram Navami yesterday which pushed collections a little. The growth could have been more but the film was very strong on Wednesday evening which could not be replicated on Thursday evening.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE continued to smash records as it collected around 37 crore nett on its second Friday which is easily the highest collections ever seen on the second Friday. Also considering the level of collections, a 20 % drop is hardly anything. Normally, there is a jump in ticket pricing to weekend rates on the second Friday but this was not the case here as pricing has been pretty much similar from the first day with the makers not dropping rates for the weekdays.
This now takes the film to 613 crore nett and and its pretty certain to be the highest grossing Hindi film within two weeks. The second weekend itself will see the film go to number two with only the first part of DHURANDHAR ahead of it. The first part of the film got a lot of mileage on national television for the political side of the film which really pushed collections but this time its less and its the film doing the talking.
The weekend will no doubt show huge figures and it will be Monday that can be the first test especially as it could be the first time that ticket pricing is lowered. No doubt there will be a hold but at what level remains to be seen. If Monday is only 20-30% down, then it will be a bumper initial film trending like a content film through April. The dubbed versions have also seen a good hold on the second Friday with collections generally better than the day before and that includes the Tamil version. This Friday hold means it has a shot to beat JAWAN figure for dubbed versions though a lot depends where Monday lands.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE set a new record for the highest second Friday of all time with collections of 37 crore nett beating the previous record by around 20%. The record was held by the first part of the film. As far as the second Fridays go, this franchise is totally dominant with collections much higher than the rest.
Outside this franchise there are no films above 25 crore nett and this 37 crore nett has come when a 20 crore nett collection on the second Friday is a huge task. Only PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE, ANIMAL and CHHAAVA have managed it outside the DHURANDHAR films. If we back to pre pandemic time, then the best collection for an original Hindi film was 18 crore nett for DANGAL which has been doubled now by DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE.
Looking at the list below it again has to said that whoever came up with the idea to put this film into two parts was a god send for the film though it may not have been a hard decision as the budget was big and recovery was looking tough when the units of the first part came out. Now its all history as both films are among the biggest HITS ever.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE added another phenomenal 55 cr on its second Saturday which is a solid 50% growth on the previous day. The growth may not look as big as other films but that's because the numbers are at levels which are unreal. So, there will be limitations in terms of growth. The film will be easily be a second weekend record but it will be Monday that will tell if it will be a second week record.
This is because DHURANDHAR part 1 was phenomenal from the second Monday and eventually did 240 crore nett in the second week which is a big target. There will be a boost with the Mahavir Jayanti holiday on Tuesday. So, it should be a 250 crore nett plus week which again will be a first but it depends on where Monday lands.
The film hit the 200 crore nett mark in Mumbai circuit on Saturday with now DHURANDHAR, CHHAAVA and PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE ahead of it and it should cross all three in the long run and the 300 crore nett mark. The film is going to set new records everywhere and its easier to talk about where it may NOT set records and its possible that CP Berar and Odisha will not hit new highs.
The dubbed versions stand at around 34 crore nett and are chasing the 46 crore nett of ANIMAL and 60 crore nett of JAWAN. It remains to be seen if it can reach the total of JAWAN while it should be able to beat ANIMAL.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE went on a box office carnage on Saturday which was a national holiday for Eid and on Sunday it went even a little better as it collected around 100 crore nett. Bassi Eid falling on a Sunday did the trick as some of the mass centres do better on the second day of Eid then the actual national holiday. The film is running riot at the box office and smashed records like nothing before.
The weekend including paid previews is 384 crore nett and this is a total that no film has even managed in seven days as PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE did 360 crore nett in seven days. As for original Hindi films, PATHAAN did around 317 crore nett. There is a further 12 crore nett in languages which takes the film to almost 400 crore nett in all versions. The business on Saturday and Sunday is a box office dream with insane occupancy for present times on huge capacity.
Its records all over though it did not reach the Sunday figures of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE in CP Berar and Odisha on Sunday. But this is a regional thing as DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE has a heavy North flavour. When you take that into consideration, then for films with a Northern touch to achieve similar numbers to PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE in these two circuits itself is a crazy achievement.
The advances are historic for Monday and its going to be a huge hold and its pretty certain that a 50 crore nett day is loading and it could even be 60 crore nett. The film crossed 100 crore nett in Mumbai on Sunday and it will do the same time in Delhi/UP in a few days time. East Punjab could even be looking at 100 crore nett in the long run making it the third circuit to hit milestone. In fact even Mysore doing a 100 crore nett would be no surprise.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE (Hindi) collected a huge 677 crore worldwide over its extended weekend and it was record breaking practically everywhere. The film is already among the top ten grossing original Hindi films worldwide and will easily be top of the pile. For this film now, its not just about being top of the pile but by what margin.
The film has another 15 crore gross coming from other versions of the film which takes the film to 692 crore and the biggest ever total when you include multiple versions for a similar period is PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE at around 730 crore and this is the only comparison. DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is around 40 crore less and will eat into this gap over the weekdays. There is no Gulf here and if you take what it could have done in Gulf then the figure would have easily surpassed PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE.
Gulf is always going to be an issue with patriotic films especially the ones like DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE which have a Pakistan angle. But you take that hit as this angle sells like anything in India especially when the protagonist does damage in the neighbouring country. The film can hit the 1000 crore mark worldwide by the end of the week.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE had an unbelievable Monday as it collected 60 crore nett. If we take the first day of all the films outside DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE, then this Monday would be standing at number 3 after PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and JAWAN. So the Monday comparisons are pointless as the film competes with the first days of the biggest films.
The total collections of the film stand at 444 crore nett including paid previews and the week could be looking at a first week total of 575 crore nett. There was the Eid factor still in play on Monday which has aided collections. Normally in this period you look at East Punjab where Eid is not a factor for a trend but that circuits is down only 15% from Friday. It could be that its going to outperform here due to that huge North flavour in the film. The overall drop is around 18% from Friday with states like UP getting a boost from Eid.
The film has seen ticket prices held at similar rates as the weekend and the weekend was showing an average ticket price of 330 as admits were 1.40 crore plus apprx. The nationals chains were showing an insane ATP of around 440. Post pandemic has seen free tickets and discounted tickets given and here is a film with crazy ticket prices being lapped up. When the content is there and the audience wants to see, then pricing just does not come in the way.
The regional versions of the film are okay. There has been a fall in the Tamil version and it has little chance to reach the figures of JAWAN. The Telugu version is much better and it may challenge the numbers of ANIMAL though it remains to be seen how it goes over the next few days. Both JAWAN and ANIMAL had names from these markets which makes a huge difference as DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is superior film. But business in regional will be so so unless the Telugu market can really sustain over the next few weeks. Its a different story for the Hindi version in the South as that is far bigger than JAWAN and ANIMAL which are among the bigger films in the South markets.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE collected an insane 60 crore nett on Monday smashing all records. There is a little Eid factor in play but even on fair value, its way above the rest. There is TIGER 3 in second place but it was day two for that film and a national holiday. So, that can be taken out of the equation. Basically it means the 50 crore nett figure on a normal Monday for a blockbuster film is now a possibility.
It was only 2019 that a film managed to hit 50 crore nett on day one for the first time. It can be said that these unprecedented DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE figures are impossible to beat but the business for the bigger films with the content are growing so fast that you just don't know where you will be in a year or two.
Basically the box office is not shared like it used to be earlier with the bigger films taking the bigger piece of the cake leaving the other films with lesser collections and benefitting the blockbuster film. The box office now remains dead for weeks and then suddenly it erupts and then meanders along until the next eruption though DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is a volcanic eruption of another level.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE continued its outstanding run on Tuesday as it collected 46 crore nett which takes the film to 490 crore nett in six days and paid previews. The collections are down from the Monday but this is post Eid and that Eid affect gets lesser and lesser each day. The collections in centres where Eid has a limited impact held up better on Tuesday.
The are places which are still in that Eid holiday zone especially in the state of UP. It will all wind down from today or tomorrow at the latest and the film will then find a normal level though its a holiday for Ram Navami on Thursday. So, it will be Friday when the film has no holiday factor. The Tuesday business of the film still remains well above the likes PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and ANIMAL. The first week had already set a record in just the first four days and the traditional seven day first week looks like going to around 485-490 crore nett while the extended first week is set to be around 565 crore nett plus.
The film has simply torn up the record books in the first week and has smashed practically every single record there is. The second week will see it compete with its predecessor, the first part of DHURANDHAR, and no doubt it will smash the second weekend of that film but things will get tougher from the second Monday as its from here that DHURANDHAR part one went to another level.
Down South, the film is doing well in Telugu but not in Tamil. The collections here are around 20 crore nett so far but it does not look like it will reach the level of JAWAN or even ANIMAL in its other language versions.

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE recorded the second highest first Tuesday all time with GADAR 2 being top but the latter had a huge national holiday of Independence Day. So, on fair value, the DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE's Tuesday is better. The film has got a little benefit of Eid on Tuesday but still collections would easily be above 40 crore nett if all normal.
The first Tuesday also sees both parts of DHURANDHAR in the top ten with DHURANDHAR Part 1 in ninth place. On Friday, its likely that this franchise will hold top places. So, in terms of second Fridays, it will be DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE holding top place and DHURANDHAR holding second place or vice versa. Its likely to be the same story through the second week. This has never happened before and is basically about the domination of this franchise at the box office over the last 4 months.
For the record, the film has collected 20 crore nett more than DHURANDHAR Part 1 on the first Tuesday but this gap will close everyday from here. There are only four films above 30 crore nett and they are GADAR 2, DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE, PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and ANIMAL.
