Mumbai cinema halls to operate 24 hours for Dhurandhar 2 amid increased demand; shows to start from 1.55 AM

The advances for paid previews of DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE have reached 17 crore nett plus and there is still four days to go till release. The nationals chains should hit 3 lakh tickets just for paid previews today. The advances are lopsided towards these chains for the paid previews but that should not be the case for the other days where advances have been opened up.

The paid previews have smashed records by margins and there is no other film even in close competition but now with advances plans fully open its all about that opening day record of JAWAN (Hindi) which was set a few years back. The craze is far higher than any other film seen in the recent past. So normally, this record will be a sitting duck but it remains to be seen how much these paid previews take out of the first day. They may only be paid previews on Wednesday but its still a heavy release and pretty much like a full day as far as multiplexes screenings are concerned.

Wherever the Thursday number comes out, its likely that Friday will be higher as Eid will likely play out from Friday and over the weekend and even Monday. So basically if the ALL TIME RECORD comes on Thursday, the film is still going to be heading towards even higher collections after that.

The advances for the paid previews are as follows.
Day One - 6,50,00,000 apprx
Day Two - 3,25,00,000 apprx
Day Three - 2,25,00,000 apprx
Day Four - 1,75,00,000 apprx
Day Five - 1,75,00,000 apprx
Day Six - 1,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 17,25,00,000 apprx
---------------------------------------
DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE's advances continue with huge momentum as the paid previews cross 20 crore nett and the first day advances which opened on Saturday morning are comfortable into double digits with three days to go. The national chains stand at a huge 5 lakh tickets right now for the first day and paid previews. The target here will be to beat the 6.4 lakhs of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION though that film did not have paid previews. As far as collections go, all advances records will be beaten and in fact the film has already done it.

JAWAN is the record advance holder at 28.75 crore nett and if we count paid previews, then DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE has already got 32 crore nett with 21 crore nett for paid previews and 11 crore nett for the first day. This 11 crore nett has come in just two days. Hence, it should also beat the JAWAN advance by Wednesday night.

It may well be that the advances for the paid previews and day one are both records and the highest advances ever seen and this is in terms of collections and not in terms of ticket sales its likely to be less than BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION. In terms of ticket sales it can compete with BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION in the national chains if we add the paid previews. But in the other cinemas, there is a healthy difference in favour of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION. However, it has to remembered that its post pandemic now and a lot has changed.

At present its looking that the film could be standing at 30 crore nett advance for paid previews before the first show starts and it may well be a similar total for the first day by Wednesday night. The first day has potential to go even higher and its the pace on the final day of advance which will determine where that goes.

The advances for DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE are as follows.
Paid Previews - 21,00,00,000
Day One - 11,00,00,000
---------------------------------------
DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE advances are now going to a different level all together as now its 25 crore nett for paid previews and 16 crore nett for the first day. All records are being smashed in terms of collections by a distance and if we include the paid previews then for tickets sold as well. It is the national chains which are simply bonkers with 65% of the collections though this ratio will come down when the film releases. The ratio may not come down by much for paid previews but for the first day it is a certainty and that should even show in the last day of advances.

The film is looking to cross the 30 crore nett mark for paid previews before the first show and there is a chance this could happen by the end of business tonight. The record advance for the first day is 28.50 crore nett of JAWAN and that will be done in paid previews here. The number of screenings and pricing in paid previews make it pretty close to a normal first day on the multiplex side of business even though its a 5 PM start. The advances for the actual first day will also cross 30 crore nett and now the question is by how much.

Its just not the advances for the paid previews and day one but that Friday - Sunday period is also phenomenal with around 20 crore nett already done. The film should be looking at a 100 crore nett total advance for the five day extended weekend and paid previews. Its an unknown what the pace will be tomorrow and it would be no surprise if this total easily goes over 100 crore nett by release time. Simply put its the biggest craze the multiplexes have seen till date. Its bigger than BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION as far as the multiplex side of business goes in Hindi circuits.

The film also has a release in regional languages in the South but this is always tough for Hindi films and it does not really matter much as the business in Hindi will be out of this world in South India. The difference will be Nizam/Andhra as this circuit is sure to beat the records of the last film by a margin. There is a chance of a break out in languages post release but its minimal as Hindi version will dominate the bigger centres and where the dubbing has to come into play are the other centres but these areas prefer their own films and faces. As a few South films have broken out in Hindi, there are expectations in some quarters for the bigger Hindi films to do the same but its a near impossible task.

Simple way to put it is that Hindi is understood by a large population in the South while the South regional languages are not understood in Hindi areas. In Hindi belts, a South film will not be seen in original language as no one understands but in South when a Hindi film really works its audience watches in Hindi. This makes it impossible for even the biggest Hindi film to repeat what some of the South films have done in Hindi.

The advances for DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE are as follows.
Paid Previews - 25,00,00,000
Day One - 16,00,00,000
