WILL TU MERI MAIN TERA MAIN TERA TU MERI SUCCEED DESPITE UNSTOPPABLE DHURANDHAR WAVE?
The last major release of 2025, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, will be released tomorrow, on Christmas, that is, December 25. Ideally, a film of this kind would have a fair opening, but in the present circumstances, its opening might be affected.
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri stars Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday. It is directed by Sameer Vidwans of Satyaprem Ki Katha fame. It marks the first film of Kartik Aaryan and producer Karan Johar of Dharma Productions.
The teaser and songs promised a fresh, youthful romcom. Meanwhile, the trailer promised much more and also that it's probably a family drama. The makers smartly haven’t divulged the principal plot and hence, it has made people curious what the film is all about.
However, the excitement for the film is limited at present as the promos and songs haven’t worked as intended. Secondly, it doesn’t have sufficient screens (as of now). This is because Dhurandhar refuses to subsist. It has collected nearly Rs. 540 crores in 18 days. On its third Sunday, the Ranveer Singh-starrer earned a huge Rs. 35 crores. Hence, it is sure to put up a huge total on Christmas Eve and on the day of Christmas.
In other words, the Dhurandhar wave has emerged as a huge challenge for Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. The ticket sales are decent at present and hopefully, it’ll manage to open at Rs. 10 crores. The target should be to cross the collections of Kartik and Sameer Vidwans’ last film, Satyaprem Ki Katha, which earned Rs. 8.20 crores on its opening day.
Thankfully, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri can still work big time if reports are positive. Its biggest advantage is that it’s coming during a huge holiday period. The film will have two long weekends or four-day extended weekends twice to score. As a result, if word of mouth is positive, it will see a jump in collections on Saturday, December 27 and Sunday, December 28, followed by steady earnings in the weekdays. The collections would then again rise on Wednesday, December 31 and Thursday, January 1.
Interestingly, even Dhurandhar was not that hot pre-release and it underperformed on day 1. But the way it jumped with each passing day was a pleasant surprise. Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri can also get audiences in hordes, many of which are waiting for the initial reports to come in.
2025 has been a better year for the film industry compared to 2024. Here’s hoping it ends with a bang with the success of Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri.
