DHURANDHAR hit a phenomenal second weekend as it picked up 135 crore nett. This is 40% HIGHER than its first weekend and now the film is on an extraordinary run that it is practically certain to be the highest grossing ORIGANAL Hindi film ever. It will also probably the first original Hindi film to reach 600 crore nett though it will be the third Friday which will confirm this.

If the third Friday puts up a huge number, then even the 700 crore nett plus total of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) will be a possibility. There is huge competition with AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH on Friday and advances are strong. However, the advances are lopsided to the South and it may well be that Hindi circuits still see DHURANDHAR on top. The holds are so strong that even the Christmas films will struggle for an audience as there is a good chance DHURANDHAR could be stronger than them though again its a wait for the third Friday.

The film started on a bad note but such is the scenario now that its looking more organic than most of the other big original Hindi grossers. GADAR 2 and ANIMAL are the clean ones and here with DHURANDHAR, it looks the adds are going to be 1% or maybe even less of the total collections which is nothing compared to the manufacturing of collections which goes on in various ways today.

The film not only set second weekend records but at a chain like MovieMax, it set all time records as it matched the numbers PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE had on its first Sunday. The chain was the first to start playing DHURANDHAR 24x7 on Saturday and Sunday which enabled these figures which were as high as the first weekend of Pushpa 2 for the chain.

The film will be setting many more records over the next few weeks. It stands at 331 crore nett apprx and 400 crore nett will be done by the end of the week and then the race will start to beat the biggies.

DHURANDHAR beat the record of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) for the second weekend by a considerable margin with collections being 20 crore nett higher than the latter. It became the the third film to hit a century in the second weekend after PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and CHHAAVA. It was not long ago that a 100 crore nett first weekend was a big target and now you have films getting this far in the second weekend.

DHURANDHAR has collected 135 crore nett in its second weekend and only six films have crossed this mark in the FIRST weekend. These films are PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE, JAWAN, ANIMAL, PATHAAN, KGF - CHAPTER 2 and TIGER 3. DHURANDHAR itself was lower and did not even do 100 crore nett in its first weekend. The first weekend record is 182 crore nett and DHURANDHAR in its second weekend is just 25% less than that.

Despite beating PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE, the business in the second weekend the collections in single screens remains less than the Allu Arjun starrer. But this probably means that DHURANDHAR is likely to record the highest business ever at chains like PVR Inox and Cinepolis even if it does not beat PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) at an all India level. The year has been a struggle but it seems to ending on a good note with DHURANDHAR and to a lesser extent TERE ISHK MEIN as well.

DHURANDHAR was extraordinary on its second Monday as it collected 29 crore nett which now takes the film to 360 crore nett plus. The drop from the Friday is a little more than 5% which is just unthinkable when a film is collecting at these levels. Some of the mass circuits are actually better on Monday than Friday.

In fact if we take out the block bookings, then the first day is actually the lowest day this film has seen and it looks like its not going go lower than that from the next seven days at least. If this happens, it will mean that the lowest day is the first day out of the first seventeen days for the film. The second week stands at 165 crore nett and the way the film is going it looks like a phenomenal 240-245 crore nett for the week. No film has ever even got 200 crore nett before in week two.

DHURANDHAR is going to give AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH good competition this week and the Hollywood film will be doing bulk of its business in South as it looks little competition to DHURANDHAR outside the metros like Mumbai and Delhi. The film is now certain to become the FIRST original Hindi film to hit 600 crore nett. The target has to cross the 700 crore nett and beat the record of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and it has chances of getting there.

DHURANDHAR has continued its great run in Overseas as like India, the second week heads for higher numbers than the first week. The film had collected around $8 million in week one and the second weekend was around $5.5 million. Now Monday, which is the eleventh day, will be higher than the first day at around $900k.

This means the second week stands at around $6.4 million and maybe a little higher when final Monday figures come. So, its almost $14.50 million in 11 days and there is likely to be a jump in business on Tuesday which means the two week total could be around $17.50 million. These numbers are all coming without a Gulf which means even on a worst case scenario it would be well past $20 million mark if it had a Gulf release.

The screen space is going dominated by AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH and other Christmas releases especially in the main markets of US/Canada, UK and Australia but DHURANDHAR still has plenty of gas left in the tank going by the Monday number. Even if it gets in the third week by AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH, there will be the holiday period to come where it is sure to rack up the collections. There is a good possibility the film can go to $25 million which would be extraordinary for a film like this which keeps some of the non resident subcontinent crowd away and without Gulf release.

DHURANDHAR maintained phenomenal collections on its second Tuesday as it collected 29 crore nett showing the same collections as the day before. Like last week, these collections are coming on the weekday rates and not on discounted rates which makes the hold even more incredible. Though the fact that its established that Tuesday is a discounted day, it would have shifted some of the weekday audience to Tuesday so it can still help collections.

The film now stands at almost 390 crore nett and it will cross the 400 crore nett mark today. The film has already set a second week record as it stands at 193 crore nett which beats the 178 crore nett of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and the 170 crore nett of CHHAAVA. The film will also cross 200 crore nett for week two which will be a first and the week could end with an insane 240 crore nett plus.

The film was leading was better in the Mumbai Thane Pune area in the first week as compared to NCR but that seen a change in week two as the NCR is now performing better and catching up. The film is heading for record business across most multiplexes even if it does not reach the PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) lifetime number. The film has easily crossed 100 crore nett in Mumbai and Delhi/UP will also be done by the end of the week.

DHURANDHAR had another huge day on its second Wednesday as it collected nearly 25 crore nett. For this film, this is actually the first noticeable drop but its only around 15% down which just shows how the film is trending that even 15% drop becomes noticeable. The film now stands at a huge 414 crore nett in 13 days heading for a close of 435 crore nett plus in two weeks.

The second week now stands at an insane 217 crore nett looking to end at around 240 crore nett which will be more than 50 crore nett higher than the PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE second week record. The third week has never seen a 100 crore nett week and DHURANDHAR looks certain to achieve this feat and the question will be how mush higher than 100 crore nett it will go.

The film is going to easily be the highest original Hindi grosser as it beats STREE 2 and becomes the first original Hindi film to hit 600 crore nett. But the endgame is PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE which is a much tougher task but within reach although a lot depends on the Christmas and New year period to come, how well it sustains there and how the competition affects it.

DHURANDHAR is heading towards becoming the highest grossing Hindi film worldwide of all time. The title for biggest Hindi film in India may go to the wire but the worldwide title for number looks a bit easier due to the crazy run in overseas. The huge Christmas holiday period to come over the next two weeks should help even though there will be Hollywood releases.

The biggest Hindi worldwide grossers till date are PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and JAWAN, both at around 1050 crore though they were released in many versions. So, with that, the totals go higher especially of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE. The way DHURANDHAR is going it looks likely it is almost certain to go over 1050 crore unless AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH and the other Christmas releases really hold it up in circuits like US/Canada, UK and Australia.

It is not only that all this is coming without a Gulf release. If you take that into account the film even becomes bigger. Its difficult to tell what the loss is in due to Gulf not releasing but 50 crore can be given at a minimum and maybe much more.

The race is on for the film to become the biggest Hindi worldwide grosser and it will around the New Year that will tell if it gets there. The film has a total of 650 crore worldwide till date and has to cover another 400 crore. The worldwide collections of the film till date are as follows.

DHURANDHAR recorded a historic second week of 240 crore nett smashing all records by leaps and bounds and it took its overall total to 436 crore nett. The Thursday, which was the 14th day of release, still remains higher than the first day if we take out those first day block bookings which is just phenomenal and never seen before, barring for films which open to very low collections.

The film has AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH for competition but it looks pretty much unaffected and should hit the 500 crore nett mark by the end of the weekend. AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH is the biggest Hollywood film of recent times and here a HINDI film is giving it a run for its money in the third week and this has not happened too often.

The second week has seen it beat the records of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) by a huge 60 crore nett plus and they are more than double of big blockbuster films like DANGAL and JAWAN. Not only that, there are only 7-8 films which have higher first week numbers which puts this second week into perspective. No doubt the third week is going to see similar records and then it will be about that Christmas week that really put the challenge to PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi).

DHURANDHAR collected an unimaginable 21 crore nett on its third Friday smashing every record in the book by a margin as it beat the 12.50 crore nett collection of CHHAAVA. This is almost double of CHHAAVA and more than double the likes of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE. These are crazy figures and there is never an explanation when this happens.

The film has this momentum and its most likely because of the political angle of the film is reaching everywhere. It is like THE KASHMIR FILES but on steroids. The film breaks the rules as its more episodic than normal blockbuster films and the action and violence goes towards the urban side. But when you have this political angle in the film, it is reaching far above the normal cinema going audience with people who hardly venture to the cinema coming out to see what is in the film.

So when this happens it hardly matters that your film is probably not in the traditional format of blockbusters as the intrigue to watch just takes over. This is what has happened to this film not just in India but across the world. On trending, its making the other big blockbusters of recent times look small and now its just about breaking the PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE record and the odds are in its favour especially with the likely huge growth on Saturday and the holiday period to come.

DHURANDHAR continued to smash records with a 30 crore nett plus third Saturday with collections of 31 crore nett. There is nothing much to say as the collections speak for themselves. Its hard enough for a films to get into double digits on the third Saturday and maybe there are around 10 films in this category and here you have DHURANDHAR doing three times that number.

As mentioned before this film is like THE KASHMIR FILES on steroids as that film had a similar movement like this but at a lower lower as it was a smaller film. This is a bigger and more commercial film and so, the reach is bigger. It will be called a propaganda film but that does not really matter when the box office is like this. It has to be noted that both the biggest blockbusters of the year, DHURANDHAR and CHHAAVA, are maybe negative to a certain community. However, if such results are going to come, then there will no doubt be more films like this as the collections tell the demand of the public.

The total now stands at 488 crore nett and the chase is for that 735 crore nett of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and its very much on. The film has 250 crore nett to cover from here which looks a huge amount for a film to cover from the third Saturday. But such is the momentum that it should happen. The period is outstanding for business at multiplexes and the bulk of the business of DHURANDHAR is coming from multiplexes. The mass circuits like Rajasthan and CI are outstanding as multiplexes in these parts do record business compensating for the lower single screens. It will the first HINDI film to cross 600 crore nett (genuine) in the next 8-10 days or so.
