Actor Mohit Raina has always kept a low profile about his personal life, but that hasn’t stopped rumours. The 42-year-old was recently at the centre of speculation about trouble in his marriage to Aditi Chandra. A Reddit post recently claimed that the couple had unfollowed each other on Instagram.

Ask him about this and how actors field gossip, he says, “I’m okay with people writing such things; it’s their job. I can’t do anything about it. Maybe we actors are thick-skinned; it’s important to be that. It doesn’t matter to us anymore.”

He shares that his family and partner initially struggled to understand the spotlight on his personal life but eventually came around. “Now they get that it’s all gossip, that people create these stories to get noticed. They’ve learnt to tell what’s true from what’s random news,” he says.

Meanwhile, Mohit is content with the praise for his latest thriller series, Kankhajura. “The makers were quite keen and said, ‘You have not done any experiment of this sort, and you come with a clean slate. It might surprise the audiences,” he says, adding, “I think I got exactly the same reaction in the first weekend itself. Audiences have now seen a different side to me. I got such good reviews and messages from people.”
