Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha teamed up with actor Ajay Devgn for the 2007 film, Cash. However, they never collaborated again, leading to reports of a tiff. Anubhav addressed the rumours in an interview with The Lallantop, saying, “We’ve never fought. He just doesn’t speak to me and I have no idea why. Since the making of Cash, we haven’t even met for me to tell you he ignored me or something. So, maybe, its just me overthinking. However, I did text him a couple of times, and never received a response, so I told myself that maybe it slipped his mind or he must have missed my message. But, its been about 18 years since we have spoken.”

When asked if there were disagreements between them, he said, “It was the producer and financier who had a disagreement. I was neither.”

However, Anubhav said that his tweets about people’s political views might have upset Ajay. “I did comment on people’s political views, so I must have told him something, too. But he was not the only person I commented about... I am his admirer and I really respect him as an actor and individual,” he said.

Anubhav collaborated with actor Shah Rukh Khan for Ra.One in 2011. While the film was much anticipated, it failed at the box office.

Opening up on its fate, Anubhav said, “I believe there were people in the film industry who wanted Shah Rukh Khan to fail. I have been long enough in the movies to understand that.... But yeah, when Shah Rukh Khan conceded that the film flopped, it was heartbreaking because I betrayed the film, and his trust in me. I couldn’t deliver a film that he could be proud of.”

He added, “Ra.One was a bad film, that’s why it didn’t perform well. The script was bad, the editing was bad, and the film’s ambition to appeal to everyone proved to be detrimental.”
