MUFASA: THE LION KING crossed the 100 crore nett mark on New Years Day as it saw good collections on the last day of last year and first day of the New Year. The film has now collected 102.50 crore nett and has been on a steady run. The holiday period is pretty much over and it remains to be seen where it goes from here. There is weekend support to come but Monday could see much lower level collections.
The first week grossed 62 crore nett and now the second week is heading towards 44 crore nett which means a drop of just 30% week on week. The trend is more impressive as generally the film has not done well the world over and compared to the numbers in other countries, India is good.
Its another thing it was expected to do much better in India due to huge success of THE LION KING (2019) which did 157 crore nett in 2019. Obviously if the MUFASA: THE LION KING shows the same trend as week two in week three, then it will actually do better than THE LION KING (2019) but that will be pretty much impossible as the holiday benefit will be gone.
The collections of MUFASA: THE LION KING till date are as follows.
Week One - 61,95,00,000
Friday - 5,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 9,75,00,000 apprx
Monday - 4,50,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 5,00,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 7,00,00,000 apprx
Second Week - 40,50,00,000 apprx (4 Days)
TOTAL - 1,02,45,00,000 apprx
