The 2013 release YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI opened very well in repeat runs. The film should do well as its that film for the college going youth crowd and this zone coupled with the lower ticket rates has has worked well in repeats. There was a huge KARAN ARJUN repeat run which did not do well as its for the masses in the circuits and that audience is not watching re runs. 

YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI is biggest hit in the love story genre of the last 20 years if we exclude KABIR SINGH as that is rarity in the multiplex era which is a love story with wider appeal in the Hindi belts. The repeat run of the film may well be bigger than all the other love stories which have seen success in repeats post the pandemic.

BABY JOHN has done very poor business of 32 crore nett in the first week and collections came down heavily after the holiday period to below 1 crore nett. This 32 crore nett number has also come mainly due to the first day which is around 33% of its extended first week. The drop on day two sealed the fate of the film and there was no coming back.

There will not be much more coming now for the film. The weekend may add a little but after that it will be the end for the film. The 40 crore nett number is a tough ask after the big drop on Thursday.
