MUFASA: THE LION KING had a lackluster start on Friday but picked up well from Saturday and has seen strong collections on the weekdays. The film held up very well on Monday with a drop of just 25% and then there was solid growth on Tuesday. On Wednesday, it showed more growth than PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE.
The film is still below expectations due to the huge success of THE LION KING (2019) but it has recovered well and there is now hope for at least a respectable lifetime number which looked tough after the first day. The reports of the film are so so but it is doing the business over the weekdays. This could be down to the vacation period which gives the bigger centers a solid boost and that is primarily where the target audience of this film is.
The numbers remain best in South with Nizam/Andhra and Tamil Nadu leading the way. The collections are better now in Mumbai and NCR then they were on opening day but still should be doing better. There will be a drop post Christmas but it should do well over the weekend. MUFASA: THE LION KING has a shot to get over 100 crore nett but it depends on the level of collections over the second weekend.
The collections of MUFASA: THE LION KING till date are as follows.
Friday - 7,00,00,000
Saturday - 11,50,00,000
Sunday - 14,25,00,000
Monday - 5,25,00,000
Tuesday - 6,75,00,000
Wednesday - 11,00,00,000
TOTAL - 55,75,00,000 apprx
