Actor Ranvir Shorey dated actor Pooja Bhatt in the early 2000s. However, their relationship ended on a bad note, with Pooja accusing him of being “physically violent” towards her. In a recent chat, Ranvir opened up about the break-up and how Pooja’s brother, Rahul Bhatt, and father, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, were also involved in that ugly phase of their lives.

“At the time we had a conflict, I felt that the respect I had for him (Mahesh), he used that manipulatively. When the fight happened, he told my father, ‘Okay, we will rest the matter here.’ Next day, he got utter lies printed about me, planted false stories in the media and painted me as an alcoholic, abusive person. All lies,” the actor told YouTuber Siddharth Kanan.

Ranvir added, “Pooja’s brother was the one who assaulted me. He (Mahesh) could have told these guys not to talk like that.”

Ranvir married actor Konkona Sen Sharma in 2010, but they separated after five years of marriage. They have a son, Haroon Shorey, 13, in shared custody.
