KHEL KHEL MEIN and VEDAA have not done well on day one with collections coming in at 5.75 crore nett and 6.25 crore nett respectively. These collections would have been fair going by what has happened this year if it was not a huge holiday. But on independence Day, it does not leave the films anywhere to go.

KHEL KHEL MEIN has done better in the bigger multiplex chains while elsewhere VEDAA is better but it hardly matters as on this day you have to be near that double digit number at least to have a chance. Now its just a race between the two films and which one does better knowing the final outcome will not be good unless a miracle happens.

It is suicidal to clash when there are so many free Fridays but it keeps on happening and the results will never be optimal even when a film does well. Even STREE 2 could have done better if it was not for these two films. It may have been challenging the opening day of JAWAN but that we will never know.

The problem for both films is that the collections are going to come down from these levels on day two and that is why they needed far higher numbers on the holiday. The trailers of the films did not look as bad as these numbers. But this can always happen when 3 films clash and now as one is going to be huge success its a struggle post the big holiday as well.

KHEL KHEL MEIN had a huge drop on the second day which was inevitable after the film did not perform on the first day. The drop is much higher than normal but this can always happen in a clash as post holiday, the audience is far less and most of that audience will go to the better film.

On top its a working day post the national holiday which hits it further. The film should be able to recover on Saturday as its a multiplex film but even if you double from these horrible figures, it is still a very poor collection.

The film has around 7.75 crore nett in two days and which is nothing and due to the clash the film has not even been given a chance.

VEDAA had an even bigger fall than KHEL KHEL MEIN on day two and here this huge fall came even with a buy one get one offer. Surely this shows the offer is pointless as when the public do not want to watch, they will not watch. If the offer did help the collections by 10 lakhs, what is the point as it makes no difference and is simply a waste of money.

VEDAA benefitted more on Indepencence Day than KHEL KHEL MEIN as mass circuits were better but these also drop more post the holiday.

KHEL KHEL MEIN remains very dull with collections of 3.25 crore nett which takes the film to 11.25 crore nett in 3 days. The jump on Saturday is 40% which is disappointing as its a multiplex film. The film is not going anywhere due to the low numbers but a jump of 75% could have at least given it a chance of a little run on low collections.

The only minor plus is that its generally higher than VEDAA now despite starting lower everywhere except East Punjab but this hardly matters in the bigger context.

VEDAA, like KHEL KHEL MEIN, is very dull and now is behind the competition everywhere except parts of East India despite starting better. The film was aided by BOGO as well and that also did nothing. The film is heading for very dull collections post the weekend.
