Akshay Kumar, known for his on-screen heroics, is equally celebrated for his off-screen generosity and philanthropic endeavours.

On Thursday morning, the actor visited the Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai, contributing a substantial ₹1.21 crore for its renovation. This follows his earlier donation of Rs. 3 crore towards the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

“With the Haji Ali Dargah’s renovation underway, Padma Shri Akshay Kumar, a true Mumbaikar, was the quickest to respond with great warmth and devotion. On Thursday, he generously took responsibility for a section of the renovation expenses, amounting to Rs. 1,21,00,000,” Mohammad Ahmed Taher, administrative officer of Haji Ali Trust, said in a statement.

Additionally, on Tuesday, Kumar, who is preparing for the release of his upcoming film Khel Khel Mein on Independence Day, was also spotted distributing langar.

Not only that, during the pandemic in 2020, the 56-year-old made significant contributions, including a sum of Rs. 1 crore to former cricketer Gautam Gambhir’s foundation and a generous Rs. 25 crore to the PM Cares Fund.

Furthermore, recently, when producer Vashu Bhagnani faced criticism for non-payment of dues for his films, including Kumar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, the actor chose to hold his own payment to ensure that other crew members received their rightful compensation.
