Singer Sonu Nigam, a pet parent to his Shih Tzu dogs Goggles and Shifu, expresses that he had to overcome his fear of dogs before making them part of his family.

Sonu says, “As kids, my siblings – Meenal, Teesha, and I – were never fond of dogs. We had terrible experiences with street dogs chasing our scooter and bicycles, which lead us to develop an innate fear of them. Slowly, we started getting accustomed to the presence of dogs in other people’s homes, and that fear converted into the joy of having them around. Now all three of us have our own dog families.”

Speaking of how he adopted his pets, he says, “Our first pet was Santa, who passed away two years ago. Goggles and Shifu were adopted, along with their brother Zen. I gifted Zen to Teesha.”

Today, the singer says he is happy to add more pets to his growing family.
