BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN collected 15 crore nett apprx on day one which is a poor collection considering the national holiday. If this number had come on a normal day, it would have respectable though even then. it would not be enough for the budget. This sort of opening day number on a national holiday leaves the film in limbo.

The clash hardly dented as MAIDAAN did not collect and the screens are not an issue as Eid bought out a limited audience as it is anyway. There was an issue with many single screens and multiplexes which opened late due to the fight for shows but that would mean hardly a loss of 1 crore nett.

The reasons for this opening will be varied - from the heroes not having the best of times to the poor units and to the way the film was promoted and communicated to the audience. But at the end of the day, this type of cinema is not mass cinema anymore and the reach is not like it used to be say ten years ago. If we take out Muslim pockets, then there is under performance is all in mass circuits and this is not good for a huge action film.

Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff at a better time with better marketing and promotion with the same content may have got the film a better initial but at its costs, this sort of cinema would eventually have the same fate as today the masses don't want the Hollywood clones. The Hindi circuits are rejecting the Hollywood films in the same zone.

PATHAAN is the one in this zone to perform well post the pandemic backed up by two blockbuster songs but still even at that time there was underperformance in mass and post that its been a downward slide with TIGER 3, FIGHTER and now this.

The film will see a heavy fall on day two as fair value collections on day one are lower and it will fall from the fair value number and once the film is in single digits in the Eid period itself there is no coming back

BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN is doing a little better in overseas as compared to India. Actually its not correct to says it doing better as most circuits are not good but the Gulf area is really pushing the film.

The first day managed to collected $400k in the Gulf and it will be almost $1 million in two days. Its these numbers which gives a better look to the film in overseas. Gulf has a heavy Eid crowd which boosts collections for every Eid release. The numbers of this film should go to $3 million plus over its extended weekend which will be a better result than India and also much better than Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff films in the recent past.

If collections hold post this Eid period the film could well be the biggest in Gulf for Akshay Kumar.

The collections of BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN fell 50% on its second day as the film collected 7.50 crore nett taking the two day number to 22.50 crore nett. The first day was a national holiday and day two was Bassi Eid which meant another holiday at many places but this is not really reflected in the collections.

The film actually has a boost in the collections on day two due to the holiday and some of this will come off on Saturday. So. it will be mixed picture as centres where it is a holiday will drop further while others where Friday was a normal day may be flat or have some gains. Normally, the non holiday centres would be making gains but as the reception to the film is not there, this may not be the case. If the film can go up on Saturday, it will actually be some respite as its on a downward spiral.

The fact that the film is down to single digits in the Eid period itself means the film is at a dead end. This is a front loaded film and when opening day collections are like they were for this film, it is impossible to survive. The horrible collections in mass circuits despite Eid pull down the film further.

BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN collected 8.25 crore nett on Saturday, which was day three. The film managed to go up in the multiplexes but that was curtailed by business being flat and down where Eid remains a factor.

It would have been no surprise if there was no growth on Saturday but the film has managed to get some due to the bigger centres. It does not really make much of a difference as the drop on the second day was too big and it is practically impossible to recover from that.

The best performance of the film is in Delhi/UP circuit as Muslim dominated areas in UP put up the best collections. The film has around 8.50 crore nett in the Delhi/UP circuit and in the long run this could be the highest collecting circuit going ahead of Mumbai.

BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN had an awful weekend of 39.50 crore nett as the film could not just get started. The first day which was a huge holiday could not get numbers and then it was a downhill ride.

The collections on Saturday and Sunday are actually better than you would have expected after Friday but with crazy low numbers in mass circuits on Eid, the film just can't survive as these circuits have to drive the film.

A film like this which will be heavily front loaded actually needs to open around the 40 crore nett mark when released on a national holiday and here that figure has been reached in four days. 

MAIDAAN has been unlucky with long delays and various issues which sent its budget soaring when initially the budget was probably too high for the zone of the film. Here with BBADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN, its a different story as the film gets the green light due a UK rebate. This is fine for a lower budget films but not for a 300 crore plus film as certain points have to be ticked for the rebate and many of these points make the film less relatable to the wider audience in India. 

Today, this wider audience can smell whether the film is for them or not from your first unit and if this goes against you at this budget, there is no coming back. BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN will see huge drops on Monday on the its trend over the weekend.

BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN did better in overseas than in India as it collected around $2.75 million with a good performance in Gulf as the Eid period is huge there. The film collected $1.45 million in Gulf but this is still short of the $1.75 million that KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN did last year and it was three days for that film while it is four for BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN.

The numbers are not good outside Gulf with United Kingdom probably next best but on Eid, the UK should be better. The film got 15 certificate which probably curtailed business as it missed out on Eid family crowd. 

The highest Akshay Kumar grosser in Gulf is AIRLIFT at $2.3 million and on this weekend, it looks like BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN will easily surpass that. But films go down heavily post Eid in Gulf even when they are working. So here, the $2.3 million target will be hard to reach.
