Bade Miyan Chote Miyan collects 58.23 cr in 26 days

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Review: Fast, Furious And Infuriatingly Fatuous
Box Office India Trade Network

BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN continues to see dropping collections despite remaining in a good numbers of screens due to the lack of new releases. The film is looking at under 2 crore nett business in week four. The drop will be less than week three but occupancy for the film is practically nothing.

The film has a total of 58 crore nett plus so far and will end the week with a near 59 crore nett total and then crawl to 60 crore nett finish. It is the only film out there where the dull period and lack of releases has not really pushed its numbers. MAIDAAN and MADGAON EXPRESS seem to be the biggest beneficiaries closely followed by CREW.

The film also fell apart in Overseas after fair numbers in Gulf in its initial weekend due to Eid. The lifetime overseas collections will end at around $3.8 million and the worldwide numbers of the film will just about get over the 100 crore mark with a finish of 103-105 crore.

The collections of BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN are as follows.
Week One - 46,29,00,000
Week Two - 7,34,00,000
Week Three - 3,35,00,000
Friday 20,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 35,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 20,00,000 apprx
Fourth Week - 1,25,00,000 apprx

BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN is remaining in cinemas due to a lack of alternatives but collections are very low as the third week will not even be 50% of the competition, MAIDAAN. It has probably done enough to ensure that MAIDAAN will not reach its total.

BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN is heading for a 3.50 crore nett apprx third week which will take it to a 57 crore nett plus total in three weeks and a close that will be somewhere in the 60 crore nett range. The film is facing a 50% drop in third week with no new release of any note and with collections at these low levels. It is not even able to trend a little in this vacuum at the box office.

The shocker of shockers are the numbers in CP, CI Rajasthan and Bihar belt that too on an action film on Eid. The likes of CP Berar and CI will not even reach the 2 crore nett mark.

The collections of BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN are as follows.
Week One - 46,29,00,000
Week Two - 7,34,00,000
Friday - 50,00,000
Saturday - 75,00,000
Sunday - 1,00,00,000

BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN had very poor collection in the second week with only 7.50 crore nett coming which takes the film to 53.75 crore nett in two weeks. The film has around 50 lakhs nett also from regional versions which is also practically next to nothing.

Despite the film being an action entertainer, the collections from mass circuits make no better reading as the central belt will stay below CREW and a single screen dominated circuit like Bihar may not reach the numbers of a film like TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA.

The collections in the two big circuits Mumbai and Delhi/UP will not reach 20 crore nett in either while lifetime may have to settle for less than 60 crore nett.

The collections of BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN are as follows.
Week One - 46,29,00,000
Friday - 1,15,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,60,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 2,00,00,000 apprx

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has 365 cr budget; to recover 185 cr; Maidaan to recover 160 cr from 240 cr budget

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan leads from Maidaan in advance bookings

The last week has been the worst week ever for the film industry with two huge disasters BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN and MAIDAAN hitting cinemas on Eid. The lowest point ever before that was Independence Day week of 2022 when LAAL SINGH CHADDHA and RAKSHA BANDHAN came together. Still those were dark days with heavy post Covid hangover which served as some sort of excuse.

Gradually, the box office started recovering but now Eid 2024 sees the lowest of lows. Not much was really expected from either film but the hope was BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN can get some sort of opening and MAIDAAN would pick up due to the zone it is in. Neither happened. BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN was dead on arrival with no interest while MAIDAAN was never going to open but it also refused to pick up.

The losses are huge for both films as MAIDAAN is a 240 crore film and recovery from all revenue will be around 160 crore. BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN will recover around 185 crore on a 365 crore budget. There is a caveat on BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN as there will be rebate from United Kingdom which brings the budget down. The number filed for a UK rebate will actually bring the budget down heavily if this rebate comes but we will go by fair value which makes it comes down to 290 crore. In other words, its a 200 crore fair value loss this Eid between the two films.

Internally, it gets worse for the industry with films being shelved across the board. The scenario is such today that by the time news of a film happening breaks into the public domain, it is probably actually shelved. The announcements are many but many of these will not get made. This is not the doing of Eid releases as was there before but the results of the Eid films just shakes up the industry more.

The first quarter has done okay and only SHAITAAN has done well all over. It is that real HIT film in the first quarter. More than that, the first quarter had almost every other film giving incentives and there was smatterings of feeding as well. So irrespective of where the numbers land, when these things are happening, it signals things are NOT right. A positive picture may well be painted with perception through the media for films but within the industry, everyone knows its in shambles at present and no one really knows when it will get better.

The second quarter will be worse than the first quarter due to lack of films and all hope is pinned on the second half of the year which should bring some relief though only if the films have merits. There are original Hindi films like SINGHAM AGAIN, BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 and STREE 2, which on paper look like those desi entertainers, and can maybe unlock the business in the Hindi speaking states. This is the key going forward as once the films start scoring in these belts, it will lift the gloomy clouds as these limited footfalls in the big states in the first quarter just cannot take the industry anywhere.

Box Office India Trade Network

BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN has seen a heavy fall as it heads for second week collection of 7.25 crore nett. The film has just crashed out which was expected going by the trend on the weekdays of the first week.

The total collection of the film so far is 51.75 crore nett and it looks like it will fizzle out at under 60 crore nett though the lack of releases will also keep this film in the cinemas. Hence, it still could be in theatres in May despite the total rejection. Actually, rejection is not the main issue; its the fact there was simply no interest and it got such a limited audience in theatres.

The shocks of BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN and MAIDAAN continue to reverberate within the film industry as although this has happened before a couple of times on national holidays, those were bad times at the box office and before the blockbusters of 2023. It seemed those horrible days were gone but then Eid 2024 happened. The worst part is there is a mini Covid period-so-sorts coming for several weeks.

The collections of BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN are as follows.
Week One - 46,29,00,000
Friday - 1,15,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,60,00,000 apprx

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Box Office Collection Day 8: Progress Report On Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff's Film
Box Office India Trade Network

BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN saw a big drop on the last day of the week as collections came down after Ram Navami though they did not even grow much on the holiday. The total collections for the film stand at 47.50 crore nett in 8 days.

The performance of the film is much worse than RAM SETU, which was also a Akshay Kumar national holiday release though it Diwali. The minor little positive is the collections are still managing to stay above MAIDAAN as this film looked like it would trend worse than the Ajay Devgn starrer but both are very similar post Monday.

There are may reasons for the film not doing well but no reason can be given for the film being this bad. It seems today when the public does not want to see a film, they just keep away. This is not the first time this has happened post pandemic but before, the films have not been as big as BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN and MAIDAAN. The results have scared the industry and cinema owners would like to shut up shop and come back in June for better luck.

The collections of BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN are as follows.
Thursday - 15,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 7,50,00,000 apprx

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Box Office Collection Day 7: Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff's Film Inches Closer To Rs 50 Crore
Box Office India Trade Network

BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN collected 2 crore nett on Tuesday which takes the film to almost 44 crore nett in six day and the extended first week is heading for around 47.50 crore nett.

It hardly matters what the film is collecting now as the film has no where to go. The very dull period over the next month or so can mean even this film can hang around despite being a film which is about initial.

The exhibitors do not have many options for some time and despite the film not finding appreciation at all, it can remain in theatres. The disaster of this Eid is that it becomes a target of 100 crore nett between the two films which could actually have been written off if there was not such lack of releases for the next 2 months.

The collections of BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN are as follows.
Thursday - 15,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 7,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 8,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 8,75,00,000 apprx
Monday - 2,15,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 2,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 43,65,00,000 apprx
----------------------------------
The Eid releases could not benefit much from the partial holiday of Ram Navami as BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN collected 2.25 crore nett which is a 10% jump from the previous day.

This now takes BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN to around 46 crore nett. The combined total of both films is 72 crore nett and 100 crore nett combined is not a foregone conclusion though with open period and incentives which will come, you would think the films can at least do 100 crore nett combined.

The week was a fantastic week for collections with first the Eid period and then a weekday boost from Ram Navami but it has all gone all wrong with content of both films not appealing. The marginal jumps on Ram Navami shows the rejection of both films.

It will be testing times for exhibitors as these two films were supposed to give some breathing space with limited releases over the election period but both films were pretty much dead on arrival.
----------------------------------
BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN did well in Gulf in its opening weekend but collection there have also come down heavily. The film picked up a good $1,425,000 over the weekend but could only add around $100k in the next three days.

After such a weekend, you would expect the film to reach $2 million lifetime even allowing for a Eid weekend but that looks tough here and going by the weekdays, the film will find it hard to add another $500k unless the second weekend surprises. This is the best market for the be it India or Overseas.

The picture was the same across other markets as collections came down but unlike Gulf, the other markets did not even get decent weekend collections. The US market will hardly reach $1 million in its lifetime run. The extended week in overseas is looking to be around the $3.25 million mark.

Box Office India Trade Network

BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN saw a heavy fall on Monday with collections down in the 2-2.25 crore nett range which takes the total of the film to 41.50 crore nett. This was expected as the film has been struggling from the first day.

The film has faced total rejection and more than the rejection, the audience just has not come signaling no interest whatsoever in the film. What makes it worse is that these numbers are coming on Eid when footfalls are easier to come by.

The film looks to be falling short of 50 crore nett in its extended first week with collections likely to end with 47 crore nett and where do you go from there. A double digit second week may not even happen if the drops continue like this over the next few days.

The collections of BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN are as follows.
Thursday - 15,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 7,50,00,000 apprx

BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN collected 15 crore nett apprx on day one which is a poor collection considering the national holiday. If this number had come on a normal day, it would have respectable though even then. it would not be enough for the budget. This sort of opening day number on a national holiday leaves the film in limbo.

The clash hardly dented as MAIDAAN did not collect and the screens are not an issue as Eid bought out a limited audience as it is anyway. There was an issue with many single screens and multiplexes which opened late due to the fight for shows but that would mean hardly a loss of 1 crore nett.

The reasons for this opening will be varied - from the heroes not having the best of times to the poor units and to the way the film was promoted and communicated to the audience. But at the end of the day, this type of cinema is not mass cinema anymore and the reach is not like it used to be say ten years ago. If we take out Muslim pockets, then there is under performance is all in mass circuits and this is not good for a huge action film.

Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff at a better time with better marketing and promotion with the same content may have got the film a better initial but at its costs, this sort of cinema would eventually have the same fate as today the masses don't want the Hollywood clones. The Hindi circuits are rejecting the Hollywood films in the same zone.

PATHAAN is the one in this zone to perform well post the pandemic backed up by two blockbuster songs but still even at that time there was underperformance in mass and post that its been a downward slide with TIGER 3, FIGHTER and now this.

The film will see a heavy fall on day two as fair value collections on day one are lower and it will fall from the fair value number and once the film is in single digits in the Eid period itself there is no coming back
----------------------------------------------
BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN is doing a little better in overseas as compared to India. Actually its not correct to says it doing better as most circuits are not good but the Gulf area is really pushing the film.

The first day managed to collected $400k in the Gulf and it will be almost $1 million in two days. Its these numbers which gives a better look to the film in overseas. Gulf has a heavy Eid crowd which boosts collections for every Eid release. The numbers of this film should go to $3 million plus over its extended weekend which will be a better result than India and also much better than Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff films in the recent past.

If collections hold post this Eid period the film could well be the biggest in Gulf for Akshay Kumar.

The two day overseas numbers are as follows.
Day One - $600,000
Day Two - $950,000
TOTAL - $1,550,000
----------------------------------------------
The collections of BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN fell 50% on its second day as the film collected 7.50 crore nett taking the two day number to 22.50 crore nett. The first day was a national holiday and day two was Bassi Eid which meant another holiday at many places but this is not really reflected in the collections.

The film actually has a boost in the collections on day two due to the holiday and some of this will come off on Saturday. So. it will be mixed picture as centres where it is a holiday will drop further while others where Friday was a normal day may be flat or have some gains. Normally, the non holiday centres would be making gains but as the reception to the film is not there, this may not be the case. If the film can go up on Saturday, it will actually be some respite as its on a downward spiral.

The fact that the film is down to single digits in the Eid period itself means the film is at a dead end. This is a front loaded film and when opening day collections are like they were for this film, it is impossible to survive. The horrible collections in mass circuits despite Eid pull down the film further.

The collections of BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN are as follows.
Thursday - 15,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 7,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 22,50,00,000 apprx
----------------------------------------------
BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN collected 8.25 crore nett on Saturday, which was day three. The film managed to go up in the multiplexes but that was curtailed by business being flat and down where Eid remains a factor.

It would have been no surprise if there was no growth on Saturday but the film has managed to get some due to the bigger centres. It does not really make much of a difference as the drop on the second day was too big and it is practically impossible to recover from that.

The best performance of the film is in Delhi/UP circuit as Muslim dominated areas in UP put up the best collections. The film has around 8.50 crore nett in the Delhi/UP circuit and in the long run this could be the highest collecting circuit going ahead of Mumbai.

The collections of BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN are as follows.
Thursday - 15,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 7,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 8,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 30,75,00,000 apprx
----------------------------------------------
BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN had an awful weekend of 39.50 crore nett as the film could not just get started. The first day which was a huge holiday could not get numbers and then it was a downhill ride.

The collections on Saturday and Sunday are actually better than you would have expected after Friday but with crazy low numbers in mass circuits on Eid, the film just can't survive as these circuits have to drive the film.

A film like this which will be heavily front loaded actually needs to open around the 40 crore nett mark when released on a national holiday and here that figure has been reached in four days.

MAIDAAN has been unlucky with long delays and various issues which sent its budget soaring when initially the budget was probably too high for the zone of the film. Here with BBADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN, its a different story as the film gets the green light due a UK rebate. This is fine for a lower budget films but not for a 300 crore plus film as certain points have to be ticked for the rebate and many of these points make the film less relatable to the wider audience in India.

Today, this wider audience can smell whether the film is for them or not from your first unit and if this goes against you at this budget, there is no coming back. BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN will see huge drops on Monday on the its trend over the weekend.

The collections of BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN are as follows.
Thursday - 15,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 7,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 8,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 8,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 39,50,00,000 apprx
----------------------------------------------
BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN did better in overseas than in India as it collected around $2.75 million with a good performance in Gulf as the Eid period is huge there. The film collected $1.45 million in Gulf but this is still short of the $1.75 million that KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN did last year and it was three days for that film while it is four for BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN.

The numbers are not good outside Gulf with United Kingdom probably next best but on Eid, the UK should be better. The film got 15 certificate which probably curtailed business as it missed out on Eid family crowd.

The highest Akshay Kumar grosser in Gulf is AIRLIFT at $2.3 million and on this weekend, it looks like BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN will easily surpass that. But films go down heavily post Eid in Gulf even when they are working. So here, the $2.3 million target will be hard to reach.

BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN did 70 crore worldwide in four days.

Below are the weekend numbers of BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN from the main markets.
United Kingdom - £160,000
US/Canada - $560,000
Gulf - $1,450,000
Australia - A$225,000

The two big Eid releases MAIDAAN and BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN have not opened well considering its a huge holiday for Eid. The numbers may look okay by the end of the day but that would be if they were non holiday releases and not released on one of the biggest days of the year for box office collections.

The films have been in rough waters as soon as it emerged that Eid would be a day later which meant a change of plans for the films. MAIDAAN released on the original date with paid previews and collected around 2-2.25 crore nett. It remains to be seen where the film goes on the first day as the holiday will help.

BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN released today after many change of plans in the last few days but the film has not opened anything like a big film for the wider audience should. Its better than what the advances suggested as there were single digit numbers going around due to very dull advances. There will be many analysis out there to why such a big film is not getting the opening it should but primarily it boils down to why its made and that is the rebate from UK.

These sort of films are not going to set the box office on fire though some may do well at a level but here its one of the biggest films of the year so the business has to be much higher than that level.

The film could have some numbers due to the Eid period but it remains to be seen if this can translate into anything substantial. The best news for the film will be Gulf where it looks to be crossing $300k and maybe towards $400k and hence, it will have the biggest opening for an Akshay Kumar starrer.

The UK could also have seen good numbers but a 15 certificate has meant lesser numbers. Both markets are very good on Eid which was on Wednesday in these places. Gulf could give overseas a better picture if it can collect till Sunday.

Its a dull Eid for the film industry but hope will remain until the verdicts come out. If none of these films sustain, its going to be a horrible 2 months at the box office and will be like like pack your bags and come back in June post the elections.
-------------------------------
BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN collected around $575k in overseas on its first day mainly thanks to a good response in Gulf which was the best start for Akshay Kumar.

It was a late start in most places and many places will start today (Thursday) including Australia. Eid is not too beneficial in US/Canada and its a midweek release so that is reflected in the collections. UK should be a better but the 15 certificate means a limited Eid crowd in UK..

MAIDAAN was struggle overseas as it does not have much for the Eid audience in terms of initial. Gulf was better here also but around $50k.

The overseas collections of BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN are as follows.
UK - £51,000
US/Canada - $110,000
Gulf - $375,000
