Farhan Akhtar’s highly anticipated film, Jee Le Zaraa, starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif, was announced in 2021. However, since then, the project has faced a series of setbacks, leaving fans wondering about its fate.

Addressing the concerns, Akhtar told Variety: “We just have issues with dates, and the actor’s strike that’s happened has put Priyanka’s dates into a huge tizzy...”

However, contrary to his explanation, industry sources reveal a different story. “The truth is that Priyanka did not like the script and said no to it. She was supposed to come to India for sister (actor) Parineeti Chopra’s wedding and, at the same time, sign the film’s contract. But it could not be taken ahead because of creative differences. It might take another two years for the film to go on the floor. Makers need to ensure the story remains relevant for that time,” says the source, adding that makers like “Zoya (Akhtar) and Farhan are particular about these details”.
