Fans of the Munna Bhai franchise may be in for a heartbreak. Actor Arshad Warsi, in a recent interview, hinted that the much anticipated third instalment of the films “may not happen”.

Calling it the “weirdest thing”, the 55-year-old told India Today, “We have a director (Rajkumar Hirani), who wants to make it, a producer, who wants to produce it, an audience, who wants to see it, actors, who want to act in it and still it is not happening.”

In the film co-starring Sanjay Dutt in the titular role, Warsi essayed the role of his best friend and confidante, Circuit, that went on to become one of the most popular characters in the franchise that comprises Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003) and Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006).

Elaborating on the probable reason behind the delay, the actor shares, “Raju is insanely perfectionist. He has three scripts, which are brilliant, but there are some glitches. Till the time he’s not 100-200% sure of the script, he won’t start it. When you ask him, he will say, ‘Yes, never say no... Main kar raha hoon. Ek baar script fix ho jaaye’. Once he crosses that stage, he will (hopefully) start [shooting].”
