ADIPURUSH saw a first week of 123 crore nett as collections witnessed insane falls all through weekdays with film dropping 30% or more on each day. It was no different on the last day of the week. The collections on Thursday are already more than 90% down from the first day. The mass circuits dominated by smaller multiplexes and single screens are down even more.

There were cheaper tickets available on Thursday but that does not help really help collections but admits would have been steady despite the drop in collections. The film, which looked to be heading for a comfortable 150 crore nett on Saturday, will now fall well short of the mark.

The first week collections are the second highest of 2023 but that hardly matters when the film is not going to add much more. The film has been made on a huge budget of 400 crore inclusive of everything. As it has recoveries form Hindi and South, it will get way with it from a commercial point of view. This is despite total rejection of the film everywhere though Hyderabad city can be said to better than rest.

ADIPURUSH managed to stop the rot as the film did not see and another huge drop as it managed to collect 2 crore nett. It looked the film could have competing with ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE for the top collecting film this weekend the way it was going over the weekdays. But the second Friday saw a more normal trend.

This does not really matter much for the film as the battle was lost on Monday However, there should be some collections now in week two when it looked a total goner. The film has actually scored some decent totals in a couple of circuits but that is all down to the initial numbers.

The second Friday has stopped the capitulation but with such rejection for the film, it remains to be seen if the film can get some good weekend growth as a better trend on second Friday is no good if the film is unable to grow much over the weekend.
