Actor Kirti Kulhari, who flaunted a new crew cut recently, took to social media to share a video from a construction site in a forest-like area, which left her fans wondering if she was moving away from Mumbai and her career.

Clearing the air, the 37-year-old says, “I don’t have to quit one thing to have something else. I will continue to act in films and produce them. The plan is to move out of Mumbai in a couple of years.”

Kulhari’s new abode is in Wada in Maharashtra’s Palghar district. She bought the land two years ago and has spent one-and-a-half years finalizing a design for her home. The Human (2022) actor has named her home after the the 2022 Kannada blockbuster, Kantara. “I was intrigued by its meaning — a mystical forest. The people in the film live a simple life, which is also my ideology,” Kulhari says.

All for new beginnings
Do these new beginnings have anything to do with her divorce from her husband Saahil Sehgal in 2021? She says, “It’s the new me. I am discovering myself everyday. It has got nothing to do with my past. Being in the marriage, or after it ended, or now having my new home, it’s all about finding my space.”

Why leave Mumbai?
“I was getting a little tired of city life. Mumbai is beautiful, but the city makes life feel like a struggle. I got quite fascinated with the idea of living outside of Mumbai.”
