Filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s ambitious sci-fi superhero drama The Immortal Ashwatthama has been the subject of much buzz. The project was announced with actor Vicky Kaushal in the lead. However, according to the latest reports, the casting may have changed slightly.

A report by PeepingMoon states that actor Ranveer Singh is now in talks for the titular role. “Aditya Dhar and Ranveer have been discussing this project for months, and talks are now in an advanced stage,” read the report.

The film will be based on mythological character, Ashwatthama, the son of Dronacharya, who was cursed with immortality.

Kaushal had in fact released two posters of the film as well in January 2021. “Overwhelmed and ecstatic! On the 2nd anniversary of ‘URI-The Surgical Strike’, the team gives you a glimpse into the world of #TheImmortalAshwatthama. Cannot wait to get onto this journey with the dream team,” he tweeted. The production team has also reportedly undergone a change, with another studio stepping in to finance this film.
