After the release of Pathaan, the excitement around actor Shah Rukh Khan’s next film Jawan is at its peak. This resulted in several portals and fan pages leaking clips from the movie on the internet. On Tuesday, the Delhi High Court restrained these websites and platforms from circulation of the copyrighted content of the film. Furthermore, the court asked social media platforms to stop circulating the clips and images from the movie and remove the ones that have already been posted.
After a suit was filed by Khan’s production house, justice C Hari Shankar passed the interim order in their favour. This development comes when two clips of Jawan were leaked on social media platforms recently. The first clip was a fight sequence involving Khan and the second one was a dance sequence between him and actor Nayanthara, who is the film’s female protagonist.
“The leaked video clips together give away the look of the actors in the said film, as well as the music, both of which are typically disclosed at strategic points in time as part of the carefully curated marketing strategy of a film,” the court was told in a suit. The suit further added that the “circulation of the leaked video clips” will “jeopardize the promotion” of the movie that is directed by Atlee.
