Bheed tells an important story of the sufferings of migrants during the first Covid-19 lockdown in 2020. A few scenes are well-shot while the opening scene is shocking. The 112-minute-long film doesn’t bore but the execution by Anubhav Sinha is weak. The film is devoid of any hard-hitting moments. The climax is majorly disappointing as a few tracks end abruptly. Even the solution to the main conflict in the narrative is simplistic or rather, unimaginative. The performances, however, save the day. Rajkummar Rao puts up a genuine act, as always. Pankaj Kapur is natural. Bhumi Pednekar is dependable. Ashutosh Rana is decent. Kritika Kamra is strictly okay. Dia Mirza gets limited scope and is memorable towards the end. Aditya Srivastava (Rao Singh) performs as per his character’s demand. Omkar Das Manikpuri is passable but Aditi Subedi (alcoholic father’s daughter) gives a fine performance. Sushil Pandey (Driver Kanhaiya) leaves a mark. All in all, Bheed is a poorly made film.
