Singer Harrdy Sandhu, who is preparing to tour the country later this year, says the current situation of the music industry is disappointing “as everything sounds the same”. He shares, “We have exhausted everything, and we are in dire need of something fresh. And for that to happen, it’s important to take a break and experiment.”

The Bijlee Bijlee singer also comments on the reason behind Bollywood music being at its lowest: “Bollywood music is controlled by the labels... Artistes have to work according to the situation the companies create. This in some way curbs the creative side, and the results are not as good as we can expect from a certain artiste.”

He goes on, “Three years ago, there was a similar situation when musicians started playing around with remixes and remakes. Everyone started treating this industry as a business, only focusing on putting out content. Remixes happen only because we are short of content.”

Talking about his mantra to stay fresh in such times, the artiste says, “I try to do one song a year and put in all my efforts to make it good. I invest time so that I can sound fresh and different. I am never in a hurry to release a song. I prefer quality over quantity.”
