Mumbai: Actor Rajkummar Rao has bought a luxury apartment owned by actor Janhvi Kapoor in Mumbai’s Juhu locality for nearly Rs. 44 crores. The transaction values the triplex apartment in tower Araya, spread over 3,456 sq ft, at nearly Rs. 1.27 lakh per sq ft, according to the document accessed by ET, making it one of the country’s most expensive residential deals ever.

Recently, actor Ranveer Singh had bought a sea-view luxury quadruplex apartment in a super-premium residential tower on Bandstand in Mumbai’s Bandra locality for Rs. 119 crores. Singh’s transaction was valued at over Rs. 1 lakh per sq ft, in line with the property rates in the vicinity.

Kapoor had bought the Juhu apartment for Rs. 39 crores in the luxury tower in December 2020 at JVPD Scheme, which is known for residences of several high-profile personalities from Hindi film industry. Rao, also known as Raj Kumar Yadav, has bought the apartment along with his wife Patralekhaa Misra Paul.

The triplex apartment is spread over floors 14, 15 and 16 of the tower. Rao and his wife own and reside in apartments on the 11th and 12th floor of the same building.

According to the document accessed by ET, Rao and his wife paid a stamp duty of ₹2.19 crores for the registration of the deal, which was registered on July 21.

The deal gives Rao access to six car parking slots. ET’s email query to Rao and messages to Janhvi Kapoor’s team remained unanswered until to the time of press.
