Ranveer Singh’s nude photo shoot for a magazine has sent netizens into a tizzy in the last few days. While on the one hand, many praised the pictures, which surfaced on July 21, as ‘artistic’ and ‘aesthetic’, on the other hand, an FIR was registered by Mumbai Police against the actor on Tuesday, after a complaint stated he had “hurt sentiments of women”. Several of Ranveer’s friends and colleagues from the industry and media have been showing support for him. We reached out to some of his female co-stars, who were nothing but supportive of his choice.
Parineeti Chopra, who made her Bollywood debut opposite Ranveer in Ladies V/s Ricky Bahl, said, “Ranveer’s been a true creative artiste since the day I’ve known him, which was even before he became an actor. He is a freeflowing creator, and nothing holds him back, which is the best quality an artiste can have. I can think of no other actor who could do this shoot. And when you’re the only one who can do something, what higher compliment could there be?”
Ranveer’s Befikre co-star Vaani Kapoor said, “Ranveer’s an artiste and a great one at that. He’s experimental and open with the right aesthetics and sensibilities.”
At a recent event, Alia Bhatt, who, along with being a good friend, has shared screen space with Ranveer in Gully Boy and will soon be seen with him in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, said, “I don’t like anything negative being said about my favourite co-star, Ranveer. Toh main yeh question ko bardasht bhi nahi kar sakti hoon. I love him, he’s a favourite with each one of us and has given us such good movies. We should only give him love.”
