Actor Ajay Devgn has been relieved of charges in a case which was filed against him for his 2019 film De De Pyaar De. A resident of Ajmer, Tarun Aggarwal complained about the portrayal of a stunt on the film’s poster which was not showcased in the film. The case was filed in the Ajmer Consumer Court, as per a Dainik Bhaskar report.
Directed by Akiv Ali, the film also starred Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh. The complainant held Maya Mandir cinema and Devgn responsible and claimed a compensation of ₹4,51,000 for financial and mental damages.
Devgn’s legal team reportedly claimed he simply acted and can’t be held responsible for publicity and promotional material. The bench said an actor has nothing to do with hoardings, posters or deciding on the parts to be edited out. The court accepted Devgn’s request and asked his name to be removed from the complaint.
