It’s raining sequels for Akshay Kumar. He recently shot the Mumbai schedule of Welcome to the Jungle. Now, the superstar has stepped into the world of Jolly LLB 3, seven years after headlining its second instalment. While Arshad Warsi, who portrayed Jagdish Tyagi in the first edition, kicked off the courtroom comedy in Rajasthan over the weekend (Jolly face-off begins, April 29), we hear Kumar joined the shoot a few days later.

It is known that Kumar’s Jagdishwar Mishra and Warsi’s character will be seen as rivals in Subhash Kapoor’s directorial venture.

“The first schedule will be 15-20 days long. Huma Qureshi is reprising her role of Akshay’s wife. She was filming Gulabi in Ahmedabad until last week, and joined this project soon after,” says a source close to the development.

After the big-scale action fare, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Kumar seems to be in the mood for laugh riots. Besides Welcome To The Jungle and Jolly LLB 3, the actor is set to reunite with Priyadarshan 14 years after their last collaboration, Khatta Meetha (2010). This time around, the actor-director duo are tackling a horror comedy.

An insider says, “The film will explore one of the oldest superstitions in India. It’s an idea that has Akshay quite excited.”

The superstar will round off his comedy line-up with Mudassar Aziz’s Khel Khel Mein that also stars Taapsee Pannu and Lara Dutta.

While Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar impressed audiences with their performances in Jolly LLB (2013) and Jolly LLB 2 (2017), respectively, moviegoers are in for a treat, as the actors are set to unite for the third instalment of the Jolly LLB franchise. Unlike the reports that suggest that the courtroom drama is currently at its pre-production stage, we have learnt that Warsi has already started shooting for the Subhash Kapoor directorial in Ajmer (Rajasthan).

A source says the shoot “kicked off on April 29”, adding, “Akshay will start shooting in Ajmer tomorrow (May 2).” The film marks Kumar and Warsi’s fourth collaboration. Earlier, they shared screen space in Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahaani (2002) and Bachchhan Paandey (2022), and are currently shooting for Welcome To The Jungle.

Meanwhile, we have also learnt that the actors will begin the Delhi leg of the shooting schedule next month. “The shoot in Delhi will go on for 30-40 days, starting June. Akshay will be shooting in the Capital for about six days. The makers will shoot extensively near the Tis Hazari court area,” informs the source.

While some reports suggested that the shoot of Jolly LLB 3 might get cancelled or postponed due to the soaring temperatures, the source says “everything will go as planned”.

Ajay Devgn granted relief in ‘false advertising’ case

Ajay granted relief in ‘false advertising’ case

HINDUSTAN TIMES (May 25, 2022)

Actor Ajay Devgn has been relieved of charges in a case which was filed against him for his 2019 film De De Pyaar De. A resident of Ajmer, Tarun Aggarwal complained about the portrayal of a stunt on the film’s poster which was not showcased in the film. The case was filed in the Ajmer Consumer Court, as per a Dainik Bhaskar report.

Directed by Akiv Ali, the film also starred Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh. The complainant held Maya Mandir cinema and Devgn responsible and claimed a compensation of ₹4,51,000 for financial and mental damages.

Devgn’s legal team reportedly claimed he simply acted and can’t be held responsible for publicity and promotional material. The bench said an actor has nothing to do with hoardings, posters or deciding on the parts to be edited out. The court accepted Devgn’s request and asked his name to be removed from the complaint.

Tiger Shroff, who is ready to grace the big screen after two years of the pandemic, is busy promoting Heropanti 2. Ahead of the film’s release on April 29, the actor has decided to pay a visit to the Ajmer Sharif Dargah in Rajasthan. A source reveals that Shroff has a custom of visiting holy places before the release of movies he holds close to his heart.

“Heropanti 2 is special to Tiger for more than one reason. It reunites him with his frequent collaborator, director Ahmed Khan. More importantly, it is the spiritual sequel to his 2014 debut film. Grateful for the journey he has had in Bollywood since Heropanti, Tiger is hopeful that the upcoming actioner — like its predecessor — will spin box-office magic,” says the source, adding that the actor will head to the shrine tomorrow.

“This will be Tiger’s first visit to Ajmer Sharif. He has taken a day off from the whirlwind promotions to pay obeisance.”

The actioner, also starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Tara Sutaria, will clash at the box office with Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Runway 34.

Kirti Kulhari to play a singer who finds herself while on a trip in Raj Singh Chaudhary's flick

In her upcoming film, a ‘slice-of-life-meets-satirical-drama’, the actress plays a singer who finds herself while on a trip
Natasha Coutinho (MUMBAI MIRROR; April 2, 2019)

Kirti Kulhari, last seen in Uri: The Surgical Strike, is all set to play a singer in her next. It’s the story of two contrasting personalities from different worlds who come together during a road trip from Mumbai to Ajmer. During the journey, views are exchanged, lives impacted and stereotypes broken.

Kirti plays Sasha, the lead singer of a band, who persistently questions society and its doctrines. The actress describes the Raj Singh Chaudhary-directorial as “slice-of-life meets satirical drama” and her character as “truly liberated”.

“Sasha is not bound by society’s rules and lives life on her own terms. It’s something all of us seek but few find. She reflects who I am in real life,” Kirti admits, adding that she also enjoys road trips and often takes off to Goa with her husband, Saahil Sehgal. “Last year, in February, we traveled from Switzerland to Germany. The weather was beautiful, it’s important to enjoy nature,” she reminisces with a smile.

Her love for music brings her closer to her character. “I enjoy listening to all kinds of music which is an important part of my life. I’ve been learning Indian classical for a while. I have a harmonium and an electronic tanpura at home and take time out for riyaaz even while shooting. It’s meditative,” she signs off.
