Mohit Raina and Konkona Sen Sharma’s medical drama gets the green signal for another season. After the success of Nikkhil Advani’s Mumbai Diaries: 26/11, Amazon Prime Video is keen to keep the story going with multiple seasons.

A source from the creative team informs, “The sequel is expected to go on floors by summer this year in Mumbai. The schedule is being drawn up.”

While the principal cast remains the same, a new story will unfold in the second edition. “The staff of Bombay General Hospital will experience a different crisis in Mumbai this time. All the characters played by Tina Desai, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Satyajeet Dubey, Natasha Bharadwaj, Mrunmayee Deshpande, and Mishal Raheja established in the first edition will continue to be part of the second season,” says the source, and adds that the eight-part series will delve further into the backstory of Dr Kaushik Oberoi and Social Services Director Chitra Das, played by Raina and Sharma respectively.

“We will take a closer look into Dr Kaushik and Chitra’s personal life. Casting director Kavish Sinha is currently scouting for actors to play the new characters that will be introduced in the new season.”

The streaming giant and Advani remained unavailable for comment.
