Actor Adah Sharma received backlash on social media for recently sharing a post comparing her look to that of singer-composer Bappi Lahiri’s, who died earlier in February. Talking about the now deleted post, she says, “We live in times when people look for reasons to get offended.”

She elaborates, “The picture collage with Bappi da was originally posted on my Instagram March 28, 2020.” The Commando 3 (2019) actor says the resurfaced photo was a scheduled post.

However, Sharma, who has a considerable following on social media, doesn’t deny its positive impact: “It has been a boon. There’s so much I can put out there that no one would’ve known otherwise.”

And, the 29-year-old hopes she gets to be as expressive through her film choices, too. “Now, with so much experimental content being made, I hope I get a chance to do it all,” she signs off.
