Actor Sharib Hashmi, who is known for playing JK in the popular web show franchise The Family Man, has worked extensively on OTT. He has also been a part of shows such as Scam 1992, Asur, to name a few. The one thing he supports is no censorship on this medium.

However, he is okay with cutting down on strong language and unnecessary nudity. “Mere hisaab se jo thode bahut log self-censorship karenge, woh achha bhi hai. One should be a bit responsible as well. The voice that a maker has should not get drowned under censorship. That is my only concern. Baaki gaaliyaan kam kar do, nudity kam kar do, mujhe koi problem nahi hai,” says the 45-year-old, who has joined the cast of Vikram Vedha with actors Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan.

He believes it depends on the makers and how much they are willing to let go. “We didn’t have any unnecessary elements in The Family Man. Raj and DK (Raj Nidimoru, Krishna DK), who directed the show, were very responsible filmmakers. For instance, there was a controversy right before the release of the series (around the depiction of the Tamil community). They based the entire plot of the second season on intensive research. Aisa nahin hai ki kuch bhi script likh di. Similarly, aisa kuch bhi nahin kar sakte jisse koi community hurt ho,” he says.
