The past two years have been challenging, confesses actor Vaani Kapoor, who shares that the phase where she had to stay at home and not step out for work was, by far, the toughest period of her life. “I was feeling trapped in the house like so many others,” she says.

The actor adds that she missed being on a film set and, in general, her overall work, and her happiness resumed when she resumed her work. Kapoor, who completed two films — BellBottom and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui — amid the Coronavirus pandemic, tells us that she “was waiting for cases to go down”.

“Ours is a job that can’t happen over a video call,” shares the actor.

With filming currently in full swing and the final products slowly making their way to the cinemas, the 33-year-old only hopes that the worst is over. “We all, kind of, skipped two years of our lives and now we are finally hoping that we can live normal lives [going forward], of course, by taking all precautions. It has been hard for us (movie industry) as it has been for everyone else,” she adds.

Kapoor says that she was among the fortunate ones who had kept working despite the pandemic. “I was lucky enough to shoot two films at a time when everybody else had to wait it out and be home.I am aware of that and grateful for it. I ended up shooting two films back-to-back amid the pandemic. I was the busiest. I have never shot films back-to-back [in the past]. I am grateful that I had work. I could keep myself distracted,” the actor shares.

While her film BellBottom has made its way to the cinemas, Kapoor has two more projects waiting in line — Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui and Shamshera.

Ask her the status of the release of these two films and she tells us, “I don’t know when they will be coming out. I know that Shamshera makers would want theatres to be completely open so everyone can watch it there because it [would make for a] spectacular theatrical experience. They are making that decision. It is very hard on producers with money and financial aspects [involved]. I hope all the films that are awaiting their releases are out soon,” concludes the actor.
