Manav Gohil, who was admitted to a hospital after he tested positive for COVID-19, has recovered and is back home. The actor was shooting for Shaadi Mubarak when he tested positive for Coronavirus. He says, “Since I was shooting for the show, I was being tested regularly. Then one day, on my weekly off, I felt like I was running a fever. I thought it was due to exertion, but by the end of the day, I got to know that my driver had tested positive for COVID-19. I isolated myself in a room immediately and when I got myself tested the next day, the report came positive. Soon, I lost my sense of taste and smell and the fever continued for a week.”
It was Manav’s wife, actress Shweta Kawatra, who urged him to take swift action. “When Shweta kept asking me to check with our doctor whether I needed to get a CT scan done, I thought she was panicking unnecessarily. It was later that I realised how crucial time is to fight the virus,” he says.
The actor is glad he got himself admitted to a hospital in time. He shares, “I could get the right care at the right time. Had I been at home, things would probably have been worse. I was in the hospital for 10 days.”
Sharing what this experience has taught him, Manav says, “I have learnt that in such a situation we shouldn’t panic and keep in touch with a physician after testing positive.”
The actor received a warm welcome when he returned home. “After coming home, I appreciated the small things in life that we take for granted, like holding my daughter’s hands, hugging her, breathing fresh air, and so on. The hug that I got from my daughter after I returned home was priceless,” he signs off.
