A while back, Avinash Tiwary took to social media to share a picture of himself donating blood. The actor believes that doing so much is our moral responsibility as blood banks are facing a shortage of blood during the on-going Covid-19 health crisis.

He shares, “Now that people are going to get vaccinated, they won’t be in a position to donate blood for almost a month. There is already a shortage of blood and it’s going to get worse. I thought of posting it on social media so that others may be inspired to do the same.”

But the actor is quick to remind everyone to take precautions before going to a hospital to do so. “We’re all doing what’s basic for us. We step out to buy groceries and that involves taking some risk too. If we step out to contribute to the overall good in the society, I don’t think that should be much of a problem. All we need to do is take the basic precautions,” he says.

Tiwary believes that now is the time for us to be more compassionate than ever. He condemns those who have been trolling celebrities for not contributing enough in their fundraisers. Perturbed, he says, “People can have all the opinions that they want to. I don’t think it’s anyone’s business to know about who does what and what kind of charity one engages in. I wonder how much those people, who’ve been trolling celebrities for initiating fundraisers, contributed during the crisis!”

Urging all to look at the silver lining during these dark times, the Bulbbul actor asserts, “Those who have started a fundraiser have used their reach and created something positive to help those battling the Coronavirus. It’s time we acknowledge and validate every small step taken. Now isn't the time to pick on someone, troll or complain.”
