2021 saw a host of Bollywood celebrities — actors, musicians and filmmakers — testing positive for Coronavirus amid the second wave of the pandemic, and the list keeps increasing by the day. Here’s a lowdown on who all from the film industry have recently contracted the virus, and who have battled it successfully.

TESTED POSITIVE

Sonu Sood: April 17
The actor has been at the forefront, helping people during Covid crisis. He recently met Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and was made the brand ambassador for Covid vaccination drive.

Arjun Rampal: April 18
Though he’s asymptomatic, the actor home quarantined himself. “This is a very scary time for us... Together, we can and we will fight Corona!,” he tweeted. Arjun had recently wrapped up his next film The Rapist.

Sameera Reddy: April 17
The actor shared her diagnosis on her Instagram story. “We are safe and taking necessary precautions. Sassy Sassu by the grace of God has been living separately and is safe. We will be in-home quarantine and will continue to be our positive upbeat selves,” it read.

Ashutosh Rana: April 13
Rana wrote a lengthy post in Hindi on Facebook about falling sick with the virus, and wrote, “... I have immediately moved in the direction of getting rid of this disorder, I have unwavering faith in the grace of his Holiness Gurudev Daddaji that I will soon be healthy...”

Neil Nitin Mukesh: April 17
The actor tested positive along with some of his family members, including his two-year-old daughter Nurvi. He told Bollywood Hungama, “Luckily, she is not in any discomfort... Papa (Nitin Mukesh), Naman (brother) and Rukmini (wife) have tested positive, but mom is okay.”

Seema Pahwa: April 5
“Positive hun har baat ko le kar. Dekhlo report bhi POSITIVE hi aa gai.” This is how the actor broke the news about her diagnosis. She had been shooting for the Alia Bhatt-starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi.

RECOVERED

Alia Bhatt
The actor tested positive on April 1 after her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali also got infected. Her Brahmastra shoot got stalled, Gangubai Kathiawadi is in the post-production stage. After testing negative on April 14, she has jetted off to Maldives with Ranbir.

Vicky Kaushal
The actor tested positive on April 5 and was in home quarantine. He tested negative on April 16. Vicky was reportedly shooting for Mr Lele in Mumbai. Up next, he has Sam Bahadur, Sardar Udham Singh biopic and The Immortal Ashwatthama, and their shooting status is still unknown..

Akshay Kumar
The actor tested positive on April 4 and was hospitalised the next day. His wife Twinkle Khanna shared on April 12 that he was back home. Akshay had started shoot on Ram Setu, which came to a halt. Bell Bottom, Atrangi Re, Prithviraj are slated for a release this year, but there might be a change in their schedule now.

Aamir Khan
The actor home quarantined himself on March 24. Reportedly, he had caught the virus after taking the first dose of vaccine, though he has fully recovered now. Aamir had been working on his film Laal Singh Chadha., whose release might push to next year.

Bhumi Pednekar 
Through an Instagram post on April 5, the actor urged her fans to not take the virus lightly. “Steam, Vit - C. Food and a Happy Mood are my go-to. Please don’t take the current situation lightly.” She tested negative on April 17. The actor was reportedly shooting with Vicky Kaushal for Mr Lele in Mumbai.

Fatima Sana Shaikh
The actor was in home isolation after testing positive on March 29. Anil Kapoor, with whom she stars next, sent her home made food. Fatima shared her health update while promoting her latest web release, Ajeeb Daastaans.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali
The filmmaker, who was filming his next with Alia Bhatt, Gangubai Kathiawadi, tested positive on March 9 and home quarantined himself. He reportedly tested negative on March 23 and resumed post production work.

Govinda
The actor’s official spokesperson issued a statement on April 4, on his behalf , “Despite utmost precautions, unfortunately, Mr Govinda Ahuja has tested positive for Covid-19. He has mild symptoms and is under home quarantine.” On April 8, Govinda shared a Boomerang on Instagram and wrote, “Apun aa gayela hain! #testednegative.”

Kartik Aaryan
The actor tested positive two days after he walked the ramp for Manish Malhotra. He tested negative on April 5. Kartik was shooting for Bhool Bhulaiya 2, which had to be stopped. He has already wrapped up Dhamaka, which soon releases on the web...

Katrina Kaif
A day after her rumoured beau Vicky Kaushal tested positive, Katrina shared her diagnosis. She tested negative on April 17. Kat was shooting for Tiger 3, and has Phone Bhoot and a superhero movie next. Release of her film Sooryavanshi stands postponed.

Ranbir Kapoor
The actor tested positive on March 9 and his uncle, Randhir Kapoor confirmed his negative report on March 25. He has two films lined up — Brahmastra and Luv Ranjan’s yet untitled. He had been shooting for the latter in Ghaziabad and the former in Mumbai.

R Madhavan
The actor used a 3 Idiots reference to break the news of his positive status on March 25. “Farhan has to follow Rancho (Aamir Khan who also tested positive), and Virus has always been after us, but this time he bloody caught up. But all is well and the COVID will be in the Well soon,” he tweeted. Madhavan finally tested negative on April 11. He was working on his next film with Khushali Kumar.

Bappi Lahiri
The music composer, according to a Spotboye report, was admitted to a hospital upon diagnosis on March 31. He started recuperating and finally shared on April 11, on Instagram that he was back home: With the blessings of Almighty and my loved ones...” (sic)

Manoj Bajpayee
The actor tested positive on March 12 while shooting for his film, Despatch, whose director Kanu Behl also contracted the virus. The actor tested negative on March 28. He is now awaiting the release of his web series, The Family Man 2, which was initially to come out in February.

Siddhant Chaturvedi
The actor tested negative on March 27 after 14 days of self isolation. He was filming in Goa for Shakun Batra’s next. His next, Bunty Aur Babli 2’s release has again been pushed. He has Phone Bhoot and Yudhra, in the pipeline.

Milind Soman
The actor and fitness enthusiast wrote a long post on April 26, Day 4 of his quarantine. “Difficult to say how I got infected or from whom...” Upon testing negative on April 5, he wrote, “End of quarantine! In any illness... the most important aspect of healing is positivity....”

Satish Kaushik
Soon after sharing the news on March 17, Kaushik had to be hospitalised, and he beat the virus. “I’m recovering. But my daughter Vanshika is in the hospital for the last five days,” he told Bollywood Hungama. She also recovered eventually.

Vikrant Massey
The actor tested positive on March 28. Vikrant has many films in various stages of production — 14 Phere, Love Hostel, Haseen Dillruba and Mumbaikar.

Paresh Rawal
The veteran actor caught the virus on March 27, post receiving the first jab of the vaccine. “All those that have come in contact with me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested,” he tweeted.
