The shoot of Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe, which was underway at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, was stopped after four members of the team tested positive for Coronavirus.
The production house tweeted that Rajinikanth underwent a COVID-19 test and has tested negative. Even while there is speculation that the actor might return to Chennai, we hear that he has chosen to isolate himself in Hyderabad. Originally, he was supposed to return to Chennai on December 28.
The shoot of the film, which had previously been halted due to the lockdown following the Coronavirus pandemic, had resumed on December 15, and Rajinikanth had joined the shoot on the same day. Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh, too, were part of this schedule.
Given the actor’s medical history, the production house was said to have strictly implemented the standard operating procedures set by the government for film units. This halting of the shoot is a setback for the team as Rajinikant had plans to wrap up the shoot by mid-January, and focus on his party’s campaign for upcoming state elections.
