SHEER IMPACT: This shimmery number with a sheer trail is super glam yet regal, making a statement at a fashion show finale

As told to Ankita Chaurasia (MUMBAI MIRROR; December 15, 2020)

Kareena Kapoor has never shied away from coming out in public just because she’s pregnant. When she was pregnant with Taimur and started showing at the end of the first trimester, she told me categorically that I didn’t have to stick to empire-style gowns or loose clothes. This time around, because of the ongoing pandemic, she didn’t have too many events to attend but whenever she stepped out, she wore clothes that complimented her bump beautifully.

In the advanced months, it’s all about comfort. She’s setting new trends with the kaftans she wears at home and the shift dresses that she favours for going out. She likes them in cottons and mull and is equally fond of her tracks, cardigans and sneakers.

During her second pregnancy, she’s opting for lighter colours and pastels. She hates purple and mauve and I personally love yellow on her. It’s her colour!

After she has the baby, she will lose weight gradually, and her fashion will evolve according to the changes in her body, as it should. By June, she will be back in a glam new avatar.

WEDDING BELLE: We chose a saree in bright yellow for Armaan Jain and Anissa Malhotra’s wedding. The light fabric draped really well. We paired it with simple chaandbalis and flowers in the hair

GOWNING GLORY: For an award ceremony earlier this year, we went with this chartreuse gown. Both the silhouette and the colour work beautifully on her

COLOUR ME YELLOW: I loved the idea of a neutral shade for Kareena for a campaign since monochromes are a hit with her. Comfy and uber chic at the same time

NATURALLY BEAUTIFUL: A nude gown with ruffle detailing on the waist, this one is all about the right mesh of structure and flow. We went with a natural, no-makeup look and nude strappy sandals
