Nepotism in Bollywood has been a hot topic for a while now. But actor Vikrant Massey has a different take on the insiders vs outsiders debate. “I am a firm believer of the power of hard work and potential. The industry has welcomed and embraced me with open arms, and I cannot complain. From doing TV, to playing smaller parts, to being hero ka dost and then to be part of critically acclaimed films and also dabble in commercial space as lead, I think I have done it all,” he shares.

Massey adds that what we get to see and get to hear today is rather unfortunate but everyone can see through it and not pay any heed to the larger agendas at play. “Any sensible head on a shoulder would gauge as to which direction this conversation is heading and it is very disheartening to see that. Thankfully the people I am around know the ulterior motives. They know the larger picture and are not affected by it,” he points out.

Massey says that his journey so far has been, “incredible”. “I am grateful for the life I lead; everything that I have is because of this industry,” adds the actor, 33, who has had three back-to-back OTT film releases — Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, Cargo and Ginny Weds Sunny — in the last few months. “The last 7 months have been difficult for all of us. To be able to do things that you love, which in my case is entertaining people through my stories, is great,” he says.
