After being home for over five months, Deepika Padukone and actor-husband, Ranveer Singh quietly flew off to Bengaluru to visit the former’s parents (Prakash and Ujjala Padukone). According to a source, the couple stayed in the Garden City for around two weeks before returning to Mumbai on Monday. Twinning in black Tees and blue denims, masks in place, they walked out of the airport, hand in hand, following all travel guidelines. “It was a reunion of sorts, as Deepika was meeting her parents after more than six months. They stayed with them and enjoyed some quality time, cooking and eating meals together,” says the source.
The duo is looking to get back in action within the next couple of months. “Since both are committed to doing multiple films, with Unlock 4 coming up, they have been working on their schedules. They were virtually connected with their directors over video calls all through the Coronavirus lockdown,” adds the source.
Deepika’s upcoming films include Shakun Batra’s next with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday, the official adaptation of Hollywood hit, The Intern, the period drama, Draupadi, and a sci-fi film with Prabhas, in addition to a special turn in ’83. Ranveer is gearing up for the Kabir Khan-directed sports drama ’83, in which he plays Kapil Dev, a special appearance in Sooryavanshi and a film with Karan Johar, which marks his reunion with Alia Bhatt, after last year’s Gully Boy.
