Actor Nafisa Ali Sodhi is facing a lot of hardship due to the nationwide lockdown. Sodhi, who is currently in Goa, reveals that she doesn’t even have access to food supplies and medicines.
Sharing her plight, the 63-year-old says, “Grocery shops are shut for the past six days. I’m a cancer survivor and I need proper food. I’ve been eating just dry ration for many days as there are no fruits or vegetables. I’m in Morjim and people here are having a terrible time. Panaji is still better. My heart goes out to everyone.”
Sodhi, who is staying with her daughter, says she had planned to stay in Goa only for 10 days, but got stuck and has even run out of medicines.
“My daughter was scared for my health and so she asked me to come here. And then, there was the lockdown and everything closed. All my medicines are about to finish. The courier services are not working so I can’t have them delivered. What option do I have now? I’m not taking any medicines, which is not good for my health,” she says, adding how her niece, Diya Naidu, a dancer, was tested positive for Coronavirus in Bengaluru, and has now “completely recovered”.
