THAPPAD saw 85% growth on its second Saturday as it collected around 1.65 crore nett. This takes the 11 day numbers of the film to almost 23.50 crore nett. The second Friday drop of 67% was a killer for the film and probably ensured the film had no chance of even a respectable final number. If the drop was 50%, then maybe this film could have gone towards the 35 crore nett mark.

The film is now playing on low occupancy all over. The film had done okay in NCR for a few days but unlike a SHUBH MANGAL ZYADA SAAVDHAN which held on there for almost two weeks, this one is unable to that. The film is probably heading for lifetime business similar to BHOOT: PART ONE – THE HAUNTED SHIP though it will be a task to hit the numbers of CHHAPAAK. Not that its an achievement competing with these films as they did not do well.
